ME loss is a big blow. That is like saying CMC and Kittle being off the 49ers isn't a big deal despite their injury history. Injury history may diminish value of a player but it does not negate it. Kancey is a good example which is why the Bucs are not moving on Kancey unless they can find a replacement. Bucs do feel they found replacements for Dean on the other hand and asked him to take a pay cut on his final year of his deal.
All the Bucs have done this off season is off set their losses so far. They haven't come out ahead and they need the draft and free agency post draft to really add talent this team. Or else we are looking at a 2026 team that is about the same or worse than the 2025 team which equals 8 wins max right now.

The NFL is a coaches game. Zach Robinson’s odd’s to be a head coach in ‘27 are higher than any other assistant in the game. So to think that all we have done is off-set our losses, when we have obviously improved our offensive play calling and that very thing matters more than almost anything else, is a tad disingenuous.
I will go so far as to say Robinson wakes up every day and can’t believe his fortune with being able to coach this group. It would have been great for Mike to have been a part of it but we have the horses to truly break the scoreboard if we can fucking stay healthy. Health is everything in this game. Look at the team with the most games missed by STARTERS, and you will see a team that struggled to succeed.

49’ers laughed at this.

Or, they couldn’t overcome the injuries on defense and were beat by lesser teams (Tampa).

I mean even if you actually think that IS A FAIR COMPARISON dont you have to qualify that?
Even if the premise held in 2026 - and I think everyone hopes it does for Evans - saying that now is absurd as to CMC because CMC is a 29 year old WORKHORSE who played every game in 2025, maybe the single best all around offensive player in the league STILL.
Evans is a HOFer but alos a unique player who the league itself doesnt CURRENTLY come close to perceiving as the best in his position group, let alone best offensive player. The Bills who are perceived, externally and internally, to be a good receiver a way form a Super Bowl . . traded picks for DJ Moore with Evans sitting right there.
At least Kittle is a little closer of a comparison BECAUSE OF HIS LEADERSHIP OF THE TEAM and because his production slowed last season in part due to an often age-related injury. The difference though is that the 49ers dont have 3 tight ends siting behind Kittle. So Tonges for the 49ers versus Godwin, Egbuka and McMillan. Egbuka is a 1st round pick. Tonges (good TE) was UDFA?
This of it this way . . .
Evans is a HOFer. So is LVD. We will miss LVD's leadership FOR SURE, but he was one of the lowest graded LBs in the game BECAUSE HE IS OLD. Evans is nto as old but plays a position that requires speed and so his statistical contribution to the team in 2025 was equal to A WR3 OR WR4 . . . IN PART BECAUSE HE IS OLDER. Can he turn that around? YES. Is it reasonable to wonder if he will? YES and even more so with the Bucs compared to the 49ers because no great OC, great team great QB.
Both Evans and he Bucs should be okay in the long run. Hopefully BOTH successful. Evans should have a great year in 2026, but that doesnt translate to a great year on the Bucs with his 4th OC in as many years.
Its okay that Evans moved on. And it absolutely can be a positive for the Bucs too. The emergence of Egbuka is an easy potential example or McMillan. It is NOT automatically a net loss for the Bucs, but only because statistically speaking its uncertain if 2026 Evans would be more like 2025 Evans or 2021 Evans. The Bucs results in 2026 will have a lot more to do with players AND COACHES other than EVANS . . and that would most likely be true if he stayed.

Here's a tissue...try and wipe the Bowles off your bottom lip, since you have a hard time swallowing.

The final part of the season was set up for them to win out and host the Super Bowl in their own back yard. The reason they lost??? Injuries. You are probably of the camp where “Injuries don’t matter, next man up”. Such an emotional mess.
Joel Glazers explains why the Bucs FO may not see Bowles as fans do
"“Again, you gotta look at everything, the whole situation,” Glazer said. “You gotta look at your team. You gotta look where it is in the journey to where you’re trying to get to. You know, after we won the Super Bowl, everyone expected the floor to fall off for this franchise. So, it’s hard to win a Super Bowl and turn it around real quick and win it again"
“And again, everybody has injuries, but I think we had some significant challenges we had to deal with last year. It was unfortunate down the stretch – frustrating down the stretch – but you see week in and week out, this team plays hard for Todd [Bowles]. Nobody lays down. You have the odd game where things don’t quite go your way, but every game until the final whistle, these players are fighting, fighting, fighting.”
LOL!!!!!!!!!!
This season is going to be unbearable. I clicked on the Pewter Report video about Joel Glazer and had to turn it off because all Reynolds and Matera were talking about was Liam Coen and the Jaguars.

That's true. That's why they were favored to play against the Chiefs in the Superbowl in 2021. Because everyone expected the floor to fall off for this franchise.
Simpletons and their owner/coach/GM/player-speak. They fall for it every fuggin' time.

You're losing it Biggs. That's such a needy, desperate troll that DH might not even quote it.
Kyle Trask says hello.
This team hasn't done anything to move the needle in a net positive direction. Lets assume losing Evans, LVD and Dean is a wash. The team still hasn't moved forward and that is the problem.
Hoping for a Mayfield miracle with a bunch of 2026 rookies is straight up dumb.

Maybe its accurate to say they have not moved the needle much, but to describe the Bucs 2026 plan as "hoping for a Mayfield miracle with a bunch of 2026 rookies" is probably a bit unfair?
They may be wrong, but clearly they think their EXISTING roster when healthy is much better than 2025 second half of the season.
On offense, they think they have already improved their RB room, they should have a much healthier O-line (need better depth), a contract year Mayfield, a WR room that should include a healthy Godwin and the continued emergence of McMillan and 1st round Egbuka (and even Tez).
Those are all reasonable assumptions.
On defense they think they have gotten bigger and nastier inside and should have basic, competent play from the LB corp when it was terrible last season. and they are definitely counting on their back end playing better
Some of that borders on "hope," especially if they only get limited improvement on pass rush.
They are definitely NOT a team willing to make big changes and take big risks for the NOW. Note that they have only restructured veterans when they needed to. That is a team at least half-focused on orderly transition to a future. Evans gone, LVD retired, Dean gone . . .
