I don't see this "extra baggage" you speak of. Seriously, I don't.
You don't think a parent who is sending their kid away for 3 to 5 years to be guided by a guy is gonna look at his history and see all the stuff from this year and think "hmmm, maybe not the guy I want looking after my kid."Schianos reputation is still taking hits even now in the media who refuse to admit it's lies (for the most part).
So, I'm supposed to believe you whom is using the "the media lies" line? Yeah I think not. And I have a child, and as far as college goes if he played football and a man like Schiano wanted to coach him at the collegiate level I'd be 100% ok with that. Bad NFL coach. Good college coach. And by all LEGIT accounts I've heard (so, not Duemig, not "media lies" people), Schiano is a good guy. Further, no I would not say I want any coach "looking after" by young adult son or daughter. Be a positive influence in their life? Sure. But it's not their job to babysit them.
But you can damn sure bet he would keep your sons toes on the line.

As one of them parent types I'd have no problem with Schiano.

Don't get me wrong, I would send my kid to be coached by Schiano, he seems like a solid college coach and a good man to me but perception is reality and to many he is still the guy that ruined Josh Freemans life, leaked medical info, then if you dig some more you see rigging of captains votes, Tynes wife cryin', etc. It's not about what you or I think, we've seen through all the BS slung at him and can see him for his real faults, it's about the average parent who will know little about him and need to look into him, at which point all that stuff is still out there without retractions. It all adds up (no matter if it's true or not) and based on this years coverage he's a step away from being the devil. It's not such a big deal for a school that hasn't had a recent controversy of their own but Penn State is coming off one of the worst scandals in college football history.Who knows, you could be right but I don't think they can take the chance, moreso when you consider how over blown his Rutgers story is.
And it's BS that magically disappeared when Freeman left and a week or two passed. It's over. So maybe the real culprit is the one who was shipped out. I am not saying it was, I don't know, just saying it didn't continue long after he was shown the door. Who are these "many" people? Duemig listeners? He didn't rigged any vote. He didn't leak medical info. And some of this stuff falls on those above him. The only people I think who would have an issue with sending their child to Penn State or wherever he is coach then are Josh Freeman if he ever had a child, Douchemig, or his followers.
