Bowles is a good DC, mainly because he schemes up defensive blitz packages. If they don’t get home we get picked apart. Receivers were running wide open last night. Like no defensive player was in the screen during a catch at times.
We dont run man or zone coverage well. In Bowles defense the LBs are zone droppers with eyes on QB. Not on WRs for route distribution. We are in an era of you have to route distribute or you’ll get picked apart. And that’s what happens to the defense too often.

Maybe the league has passed his defense by?
Last year the team had a slide that roughly coincided with the defense losing QB pressure and turnovers. That's what it sort of seems like now. Maybe it is time for some new blitz schemes? Maybe time to sit White, an unproductive blitzer and defender now.
Great that they are so good in the RZ, but pretty tough to win if you cant get actual stops.
I agree. With a lot of these RPO schemes, Bowles is showing a lack of flexibility by not changing his zone schemes. But keep bringing that extra rusher… that’ll stop em consistently coach.
Bowles is capable of getting in his creative bag when he wants to. Tends to play vanilla majority of the regular season
@ehinote last night was a good example of why we blitz so much.
allen had all day without us blitzing.
we also missed vea.
