Corners were loafing? How about the pass rushers. Corners can’t cover for 0:10+ seconds every snap. Taylor had all day in the pocket that last quarter.
The whole defense was loafing
They were definitely playing as if they had the game wrapped up. They did not.

I am telling you, if you re-watch the first 4th quarter drive and focus on LVD you will be disappointed. He is the leader of the defense.
If you're trying to find a positive it might be that the defense was NOT going to be punished for basically quitting in the 4th Qtr. The Bucs were going to make it 29-20, but they had the rarest of all things happen, a blocked kick scoop and score. Maybe the positive form that is that it created a powerful coachable moment.
Maybe not, but lets see how they do next time they have a big lead. Maybe late in the season when they need one of those divisional wins.
Defensive play calling was awful at the end of the game but honestly i'm more concerned about the special teams. Punter cant kick more than 40 yards if he doesn't have a 10 second wind up. Opposing team routinely starting on the 40 after every kick off.

Yeah on field temps were 100+ so yeah the heat was a factor but the Bucs had TOP and that should have helped them on offense against the Jets. I agree that the play calling on both O and D played too conservatively toward the end, and they should have broken the Jets ability to stage a come back in such high heat index conditions.

What was bad about the play calling? Genuinely asking.
it looks like we went rush 4, but the things that stand out to me are really execution things like terrible effort, lack of situational awareness. More motivational and execution stuff than x and o. At least on that first 4th quarter drive.
in the drive 6:00 remaining, LVD gives up a short pass and then we go sack and SECOND INT . . but pass interference called. The PI is maybe a bad call, but definitely execution if not. Lazy AF having his hands on the guy.
after a FS on Jets we rush 5 for a sack. LVD gets the sack because of the edge pressure, so as planned.
On 2nd and 18 though they get a big reception and if you watch it SVD gets destroyed because he takes several steps in the wrong direction. Its a bad matchup to begin with (WR v ILB) so maybe there is a bad play call, but man SVD isnt even in the right area code because of all the false steps. BIG FIRST DOWN
we blitz so still aggressive, but no one there to cover the RB leak out. Another 1st down
the next consequential play is a 4 man rush that gets there, but Taylor breaks oput for a first down
so those last two plays . . . on LBs?
1st and goal 4 man rush . . . SVD beaten again for. a completion underneath to an RB
back to back stops, LVD and then Smith getds us to 4th and goal.
The TD is a 4 man rush that flushes the QB and he makes a tough pass for a TD (looks like a drop)
************
So the point of all of that is that whether they are gassed (?) or lazy or whatever its not like the play calling makes a big change its that no one on defense is making a play and they let them get all the way down to 1st and goal. Almost stop it but that is no way to defend.
if this game didn’t prove everyone how bad bowles’ game management is, nothing ever will
going soft but not keeping sidelines covered was awful, he ignored football basics!… and then giving away those five yards for no reason (we had enough timeouts) before blocked kick ….that was the bottom!
I can understand that he is good for the team, that he can manage players and their personal matters and that he keeps the guys happy together in a very good atmosphere, but he sucks on the field and he sucks big time.
we need someone to assist him in these matters, and we need him to accept that and trust the guy. it must be done!
By the way, as bad as the 4th quarter was for the defense we still get the ball UP 6 and less than 4 to play, so that should be game over, especially with Mayfield having a big scramble BUT the FG attempt comes because we go three runs and don't get it done. Three runs pretty by the book in that scenario
if you go back and watch the BLOCKED FIELD GOAL it probably was something they saw on tape because you can see the two defenders near the snap. One jumps the other goes on top of the next lineman to hold him down

Yup.
But it is pretty humorous watching the chief Bowles defender do the predictable, loony string posting.
But it is pretty humorous watching me try to compensate . ..
true.
You should try posting about football instead. . . oh wait . . you said White would be the 2024 RB1, right? Lmao.
Scratch that. Stick to trolling, Fluffy.

Or, that doozy . ."Cowboys are great because of the season winning percentage"
How ' bout dem BEARS!
Jets have promising, and young bookend tackles in football so the performance of Diaby and Reddick I felt was better this week than last week against Atlanta. But Atl Mathew's isn't a pushover either.
Bottom line is the LB's need to make the tackles and DBs take better angles. I am glad to see Morrison and Parrish seeing more playing time because they are shutting door on a lot of big plays from opposing offenses. But I expect more from the vets as the standard must be higher.
Run defense is elite but the tackling HAS to be better from the LBs to shut the door on comebacks. When playing soft zone you HAVE to tackle there is no way around it.
Parrish seeing more playing time
Parrish had a great blitz yesterday, on top of pretty solid coverage
