By the way, as bad as the 4th quarter was for the defense we still get the ball UP 6 and less than 4 to play, so that should be game over, especially with Mayfield having a big scramble BUT the FG attempt comes because we go three runs and don't get it done. Three runs pretty by the book in that scenario
if you go back and watch the BLOCKED FIELD GOAL it probably was something they saw on tape because you can see the two defenders near the snap. One jumps the other goes on top of the next lineman to hold him down
The offense did its job twice. Probably should have gone for it on 4th and 1 but that's Captain Hindsight

the offense has been a disappointment to date but justified given the makeshift offensive line.
Bucs put up 29.5 points per game last year and gave up 22.6 points
This year we put up 24 points per game and gave up 22 points
Despite come back victories in all 3 games, we are getting owned in the 4th quarter.
week 1 - outscored falcons 17-13 in first 3, outscored 7-6 in 4th.
week 2 - outscored Texans 14-10 in first 3, outscored 9-6 in 4th.
week 3 - outscored Jets 23-6 in first 3, outscored 21-6 in 4th

Not to mention, two of the offenses they played are the worst scoring offenses in the league - and the third was led by Tyrod Taylor.
The 0.6 difference for the defense so far this season isn’t very encouraging. I sure was expecting a larger delta after the non-stop injury excuses last season.
if this game didn’t prove everyone how bad bowles’ game management is, nothing ever will
going soft but not keeping sidelines covered was awful, he ignored football basics!… and then giving away those five yards for no reason (we had enough timeouts) before blocked kick ….that was the bottom!
It was sooooooo bad.
But, as someone who pounded multiple units on Tyrod thowing multiple TD's and hitting his passing yardage over; his incompetency does payoff in some ways.
🤷♂️

The offense has 30ppg potential when everyone is healthy.
I dont see the defense being that much better. We are better on the back end, but the LB play is suspect and the pass rush so far not that great, so its very similar to last year, so far.

This configuration of PPG scored and allowed is roughly the 2024 Bills.
The one thing the Bucs have going for them is that they have the schedule set up to go on a run at the end so its posisble they get healthy and hot.
such a long way to go and the bumpy part of the season is straight ahead
great breakdown of the pressure package leading to the INT

The best defense we will have is our offense running the ball well and keeping the defense off the field.
Once we have Goedeke and Wirfs back we will see our ypc increase. Right now it's not amazing.
Also, the offense has regressed because Coen is simply a better play caller than Grizz. That's nothing against Grizz as he will get better... But Coen was almost lights out last year despite the nonsense from some posters on this board.

To be fair we didn't have the O line injuries we did last year. If not for some of those holding calls on Sunday they would have scored a bunch more early on. That being said yes Coen is for sure the better play caller but i'll give Grizz a little more time to develop.
Yeah the 8 holding calls or whatever it was... Was brutal
