Greg Auman asked Todd Bowles why he didn't call a time out Sunday and took a delay of game penalty late against the Jets, making a field goal for Chase McLaughlin 5 yards longer (which we know was eventually blocked and returned for a TD).
Todd's response was, ""Chase is better between the 40 and the 50 than he is between the 30s."

McLaughlin's career kicking record:
30 - 39 yards = 94%
40 - 49 yards = 62%
Don't ever change, Todd.
Even with the cold, hard facts, there are still those among us that will gobble up the coach-speak.
In Bowles' defense, isn't there supposed to be someone making these decisions for him? Did the organization not hire someone whose sole purpose is this shit? WTF is up with that guy?

Literally the first thing I thought of when I read this.

Egbuka:
“They just pump so much confidence into me. Mike is a dude who is constantly in my ear, telling me, ‘You were built for this. You can do this. You’re made for this. You’re that guy.’ Having someone like that, a Hall of Famer who believes in you to that type of level, just makes you go out on the field and really ball out and do what you were made to do.”
im cracking up. I always joked some on here about a "Bowles Statue" being built outside Raymond James.....
but then PewterReport goes and post an article today of "Is Bowles HOF worthy"
absolutely hilarious
2022 - Bucs go 8-9, Bradys only losing season in the NFL and a season we all liked to forget. By far, our worst season in the 2020 onward playoff run we got going on
2023 - Bucs go 9-8, barely winning division, but Bowles most successful season to date with a playoff win over the Eagles
2024 - Bucs go 10-7, disappoint in playoffs, but boast a top 5 offense
2025 - Bucs currently 6-2 in injury plagued year but jury is still out. Sure, they've beaten the likes of Spencer Rattler, Mac Jones, Justin Fields, and Michael Penix to account for 4 of the wins, but the next 3 weeks will be telling, if the team is 6-5, this team is no better than the last few years, likely end up at 11-6, continuing with improvement but likely 1 and done; or are they 8-3 and this team is just bult different than prior years and we see a 13-4, 14-3 type season with the ability to do some damage in playoffs.
Either way, suggesting Bowles is HOF is absolute insanity. When i think HOF coach, i think coaches with long tenure, playoff success and at least a Super Bowl under their belt - current coaches that come to mind are Mike Tomlin, John Harbaugh, Sean Payton, and Andy Reid.
Marvin Lewis was half decent with the Bengals all those years, would hardly consider him HOF worthy with his .518 career winning %

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!
Either way, suggesting Bowles is HOF is absolute insanity. When i think HOF coach
LOL, proof that headlines get people!
The headline is crazy but SR starts off by sating that people probably think he is crazy for suggesting it (just like you), but he goes on to sya that his argument is not about Bowles the COACH its about the possibility that IF the Bucs won a Super Bowl he would be nearly unique in football having won a Super Bowl as a player, a personal guy and a Head Coach
one of those thought provoking, its a bye week, type shows.
Bowles aside, its a great example of how social media works these days. You responded and then DH right behind you . . neither listened/watched the argument.
Outrage motivates and headlines matter.
Under appreciated team
"“I like my job and it’s very hard, but I would not want Jason’s job because that’s even harder — at least trying to look at all these guys and see what fits us and what you have to do,” Bowles said. “And then when the draft comes around you get mad because you say, ‘We gave up our draft pick for this guy and he didn’t do anything.’ So, there’s a lot of variables that go into that. And everybody wants something but they don’t want to give up anything. So you can’t get something for nothing in this league.”
Bowles goes on to say he admires Licht
