2022 - Bucs go 8-9, Bradys only losing season in the NFL and a season we all liked to forget. By far, our worst season in the 2020 onward playoff run we got going on
2023 - Bucs go 9-8, barely winning division, but Bowles most successful season to date with a playoff win over the Eagles
2024 - Bucs go 10-7, disappoint in playoffs, but boast a top 5 offense
2025 - Bucs currently 6-2 in injury plagued year but jury is still out. Sure, they've beaten the likes of Spencer Rattler, Mac Jones, Justin Fields, and Michael Penix to account for 4 of the wins, but the next 3 weeks will be telling, if the team is 6-5, this team is no better than the last few years, likely end up at 11-6, continuing with improvement but likely 1 and done; or are they 8-3 and this team is just bult different than prior years and we see a 13-4, 14-3 type season with the ability to do some damage in playoffs.
Either way, suggesting Bowles is HOF is absolute insanity. When i think HOF coach, i think coaches with long tenure, playoff success and at least a Super Bowl under their belt - current coaches that come to mind are Mike Tomlin, John Harbaugh, Sean Payton, and Andy Reid.

And Mayfield was the biggest reason why the team was able to keep the winning culture alive from the Brady days and make the playoffs. What's killing the winning culture is bowles and the extension we gave him. There's no question in my mind that there's a huge possibility and risk that Mayfield leaves because of that. Glazers rewarded the wrong guy.

Bowles should not be the head coach of this football team, quite frankly never should have been. That was clear back in March 2022 and is even more clear now in June 2026. The NFC South was probably the weakest division post Brees in NFL history since 2021. So Bucs did what they should do and cleaned up back in 2021; then with Bowles 8-9, 9-8, 10-7, and 8-9. And the last 8-9 after a 6-2 start. Pathetic. And even more pathetic that the Glazers will put this guy in the ring of honor one day.
In terms of winning culture, i am not sure we ever maintained it. I think it went out the window when Brady first retired and Arians was "retired".
2022 - 2 wins (19-3, 20-10) to start off the year, but hardly resembled that 2021 squad. Something was off, losing 5 of the next 6 with the one win being a "gifted" roughing the passer call against Atlanta to seal the win there. Losing to Pittsburgh and Carolina in back to back weeks scoring a combined 21 points was the end of this season.
2023 - 3-1 start then a bye week! We lose 6 of the next 7 games. Sitting at 4-7 hardly winning culture. Some impressive wins against Green Bay and Jacksonville but spared by 4 division games going 3-1 in those. 9-8 finish. Lucked out with playing a spiraling out of control Eagles team that lost to double digit loss teams in Arizona and New York to end the season and 5 of their last 6 games. This wound up being the Bucs most successful year under Bowles.
2024 - Another 3-1 start with then losing 5 out of the next 6 games. To be fair, some tough games included in there with Baltimore, KC, and SF but getting swepted by Cousins led Falcons? We then were saved by the scheduling gods - NYG, CAR, LV, Back-up led Dallas team, Carolina, and the Saints with only tough game being the Chargers. We actually stomp the chargers but lose to Dallas winning 6 of last 7 to finish 10-7. I don't know, most perennial teams would be upset with only winning 10 games.
2025 - The most egregious and exaggerated of them all. An even hotter start going 5-1, Baker in MVP talks, Bucs in SB contender talks, only for prime time issues to continue and something was off right in the Detroit game with offense putting up just 9 pts. They then follow it up with 16 points scored against a shit Saints team (defensive TD made it 23-3). But in any event 6-2 at the bye week to then go 2-7 the rest of the way. The first 3 games were tough (NE, BUF, LAR) but the scheduling Gods were there to save the day...it's just we went 2-4 in that stretch when it years past it would have been 5-1. There was no reason this team shouldnt have been 11-6. And...that would be the pretender record with us not being able to share the same field with NE, BUF, and LAR. At 8-9, it broke my brain as many of you know. Then retaining Bowles.....holy shit....
Now to Baker. One of our best QBs in franchise history. He really needs to work on INTs. Double digit INTs in each of his 3 years with us. They were also a killer in that 6 game cream puff schedule where we threw 6 in that span all coming in the last 5 games or 1-4 stretch.
Baker was a disappointment last year. His last 8 games were so bad that if you extrapolated that for an entire season, it would have been his worst in his career (excluding the CAR/LAR) year. That was some pretty bad football. Now i know you guys will make your jokes simultaneously as Baker practices without that contract extension you desire, but truth is, he played himself out of a contract extension last year and he will have to bounce back to earn it this year.
i think it's very likely he does, call it 75% chance he goes back to 2023 Baker which is still decent and starter quality; about a 15% chance he is the 2024 guy and then we got ourselves a guy we can win a championship with given how pourous the defense is. In either of those situations he is back with the Bucs in 2027. In the 10% chance he plays like the last 8 games of last year, i'm afraid the Bucs will be looking at a different bridge QB with a high draft pick and going with a rookie. In that 10% scenario, Bucs will NOT have a winning record again, maybe even double digit losses and you are going to keep running it back with coach and QB that just missed playoffs twice in a row when the division leader had a losing record!

its interesting that people are so committed to their views on Bowles even when what matters for solving the riddle of why he is the HC in 2026 is what the Owners, GM and even Arians think. Those three have always been 100% in Bowles corner. They may all be wrong but that's a different issue.
