While Licht has final say, the guy who has been the DC and HC/DC has had input on the Round 1-3 defensive players that have been drafted - starting with the number five overall MLB that sucks.

An aside on this play: why in the blue hell is Tristan Wirfs not blocking the Edge rusher? He leaves Jalon Walker unblocked for the motioning TE to pick up Walker 1-on-1 in a pass-blocking situation. Wirfs either screwed up or that’s awful play design by the Ivy leaguer, and I’m leaning towards awful play design. Yet, somehow with Walker basically unblocked and getting to Mayfield, the play picked up 11 on a check down.

Its not just Vrabel although he deserves some real credit, especially as compared to the Bucs because the hallmark of that defense is tough discipline.
That said though, they definitely made some moves. Vrabel brought Landry from the Titans. They got Milton Willams from the Eagles, Chaisson (as former 1st rounder?) etc. TWO DFFERENT STAGES, Bucs compared to Pats
I do not know and its not worth looking BUT I bet if you were just to compare the two teams -- Bucs and Patriots - in terms of their 2025 offseason the thing that would probably stand out is that the Pats went out shopping for FAs and waiver wires guys. Probably turned over 50% of the roster. Just a guess because they had a coaching change. And again, that is AFTER two drafts in the top 10 because they sucked so bad, one of which is the QB who is absolutely killing it this season. So, its not like its just Vrabel (much credit to him). The two teams are in completely different stages. Most fans here would have said WTF if the Bucs turned over that many players because most fans here viewed this as a SB year based largely on the existing roster.
Its a team sport and nearly every player is capable of performing IN THE RIGHT SITUATION.
if Reddick is performing, Diaby looks like a star. If we have 2021 LVD then you probably dont even notice SVD except for the occasional sack and run defense. If Mayfield isnt shell-shocked (by playing behind a decimated O-line all season) and injured, he probably hits the relatively easy throw to Egbuka and the Bucs beat the Falcons and are LAUDED for the guts of throwing in that situation. lmao.
Mayfield is never in that position to have to complete the Egbuka pass, if we didn't have out 3rd LG in?
Coaches like Bowles lose teams, especially on the defensive side, when things are not going well BECAUSE players break from their discipline.

The Center rides the defender AROUND the pocket. The sack is by the defender Jordan & Feeney should be blocking. Again, piss poor analysis.
