Brace Yourselves for an Annoying 3 WeeksJustin Pawlowski      @CommishOnlineApr 08, 2015 16898792639_Ee238C6682_O.pngWhile most Bucs fans were sent into some sort of tizzy on Wednesday evening, I quickly realized that Mike Mayock has started us down a very annoying three weeks. It might already be a week into April, but the most "respected" NFL Draft analyst by many in Mike Mayock decided to announce to the world that he has changed his top two quarterbacks in this draft. Mayock now has Marcus Mariota as his top quarterback followed by Jameis Winston.Let me stop you before you start. This has zero to do with whether I personally agree with Mayock's change or not. For me, it somebody is making that publicized of a change to their rankings, the player dropping should have either been arrested or suffered a major injury. The film has already been watched, right?“There are two issues for me with Winston,” Mayock said on NFL Network. “No. 1 is on the field, he threw 18 interceptions this year, and on the team that arguably had the best talent in the country, he continued to put his team at a disadvantage almost weekly. The first half against Louisville, Miami and Florida were awful. now, he came back in the second half to play tremendously well as we all know. Off the field, regardless of what did or didn’t happen in that alleged rape, he continued a pattern of poor decisions throughout his career. So the bottom line, for me, is can you trust him off the field?”I just don't get this line of reasoning. Mayock didn't just sit down and watch film on Winston for the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd time right? I'm sure he's seen every one of Winston's throws multiple times, but now his interceptions bother you enough to drop him?Oh, and don't get me started on those character concerns. Jameis Winston has the same exact background now as he had in January, February, and March, but now is when his character concerns are too much?“The more tape I’ve watched, the more I’ve appreciated what he’s asked to do in their version of the spread offense: He reads combination routes, he takes tremendous care of the football, and he wins games. Now, he’s not as natural a thrower, but in the correct scheme I think he can be productive,” Mayock said of Mariota. He answered his own question in that statement as to why Mariota should be the 2nd rated QB in this draft. "In the correct scheme" is something we continue to hear. Sure, put Mariota in a spread offense, hell, put him in Chip Kelly's offense and he'll succeed. Does that mean if he's in any other "pro style" scheme he'll struggle? I mean, Mayock himself said that Mariota isn't a "natural thrower."My advice to Bucs fans is to turn off the TV and the radio. I know you're all depsperate for information, but beware of all of the misinformation out there. I'm not talking about smokescreens. I'm talking about ratings.By naming Mariota his top quarterback in this draft 3 weeks before the draft takes place, Mayock just added more drama to the draft, and hopefully more eyes on the NFL Network. Be honest, how many of you tuned into the NFL Network on Wednesday night to get Mayock's reasoning to why he made such a drastic change so close to the draft? He got your eyes now, and they hope to have them later.Look back to last year. Ron Jaworski said on February 26th that he would select Johnny Manziel within the first 3 rounds of the NFL Draft. Before you point to where Manziel is now, remember the hype around him then. We all knew he was going in the first round. Hell, I think Mayock had him as his top rated QB at one point. By April 16th of last year, Jaworski had Manziel ranked as his 3rd rated quarterback in the 2014 NFL Draft ahead of Teddy Bridgewater. Hey, Ron Jaworski gave ESPN just what they wanted, something to talk about and debate.Whether it is Mike Mayock, Ron Jaworski, Mel Kiper, Todd McShay, or any other TV/radio draft analyst, just remember what their main objective is. It's not to be right or accurate, their top objective is to get you listening/watching and then talking about what they said.Unfortunately for you Bucs fans, it all starts with you this year. It all starts with the first pick. Over the next three weeks, you will hear that the Bucs are locked into Jameis Winston, Marcus Mariota, a defensive player, and that they will be trading down. Each rumor will get people talking about the person who "broke" said rumor. Try not to be so gullible.I know the next three weeks will be extra annoying because of this, but in three weeks, the Buccaneers will finally have a franchise quarterback we can all rally around. That will make the next three weeks a little less annoying.link
