This from Tony Pauline at Walter Football http://walterfootball.com/combinerumors.php Most mock drafts have the Tampa Bay Buccaneers selecting a tackle with the 7th pick of the draft. But free agency may negate that opinion. I'm told you can expect the Buccaneers to be big players in the Branden Albert sweepstakes if the Kansas City Chiefs don't resign sign him as expected. It should come as no surprise but the Miami Dolphins are also expected to be suitors for Albert if he hits the free agent market.

I just don't know with Albert. Where would they put him on the OL? I don't think he's any better than Penn at LT.

My understanding is his game is a lot like Penn. Both can appear like they're struggling with sloppy technique but both have a knack for recovering at just the right time make a play. I wouldn't cry if the Bucs signed him but I hope no one is expecting Ryan Clady and I hope before too long the Bucs fix the line via the draft and quit having to overpay free agents.

I can't see how he's cheaper than Penn.

I really don't know much about him. Is he better than Penn? They're basically the same age and I think I remember reading its like a 2million cap hit for Penn (could be wrong about that)

I don't see the Bucs paying big money to Albert when they have Penn.  Both are fairly similar and the cap cost of Penn/Joseph are pretty much what new Bucs FO is fixated on addressing.  If the Dolphins want to overpay Albert that is fine but I don't see another team offering that much.

The whole move wouldnt make much sense. Would cost as much if not more than Penn. He's a year younger, and has the same problems as Penn. Signing him to play Guard maybe might make sense, but he doesnt want to move inside. Just doesnt make much sense....

Up to this point, Penn and Albert have been similar players, but the past is the past. If the Bucs are to make this switch, it will be because they think Penn will no longer be able to be the player he has for the most part and that Albert will be able to for at least a few more years.
