Kancey is drifting into mid territory too.

I don’t know that he was ever anything above mid. Dude is non-existent as a first rounder.

Undersized DT... Not shocking unless he's getting 8+ sacks

Has he started his annual IR stint yet?

Be patient these things take time

Oh.

Kinda like the communication issues.

it would be great to know the backstory on the Kancey pick because an undersized DT is so strange except as a weird throwback to Sapp but Sapo was an animal

dont get the pick

Teams were using wide zone concepts to counter Bowles defense.  So he wanted to become smaller and faster but reality is you need to become so big and physical on the inside that you can overpower zone concepts simply by hitting gaps with powerful players.

Yaya test FA

he already gone lol

to this point here is Barber talking about Walker's limited playing time

“What are we looking at? Play this guy more,” Barber pleaded.

Asked why Walker isn’t a starter, Barber replied: “I don’t know. There’s loyalty issues, I guess.”

Yaya plays edge the way Bowles wants

2. Bucs defense overall

One week after allowing the Vikings to convert on just two of their 15 third-down tries, the Buccaneers held Green Bay to only two conversions in 10 attempts. That equals the third fewest third-down conversions Tampa Bay's defense has ever allowed in a two-game stretch. Overall, Tampa Bay ranks sixth in the NFL with a third-down success rate allowed of 32.69%, prior to the game on Monday night between Atlanta and New Orleans. The Buccaneers also ranks in the top five in per game rates allowed in total yards (282.8), yards per play (4.96) and first downs (16.3).

Before the two trolls hilariously killed themselves in this thread, the point above was featured as a bright light.

Today the Bucs defense

had 5 sacks and 8 TFL, playing most of the game in the Panthers backfield.

one of the sacks was a strip sack that was returned for a TD

held the Panther to 54% 3rd down conversions and are top 8 in the league

held the Panthers to 266 total yards

held the Panthers to 13 points when they were averaging almost 30 per game.

etc etc

One of the most complete defensive performances this team has put up in quite some time. There was effort everywhere on the field. For once, I was excited to see the defense every series and that has not happened in a very long time.

They moved Muhammad around the field and had him playing inside too which helped.  They talked about the NASCAR package during the off season but finally executed it repeatedly.

Parrish seems to be rising as lockdown corner or it seems to me.
