Imagine if we would have drafted him. We wouldn't even know how to draft a player like that ,but if they did -Tampa would drive that poor kid into the ground. I hate the loser mentally of this team. My rant for the week .
Not sure the Bucs have a loser mentality, but yes huge difference between Purdy there and here. Talent, coaching etc
You or I could be quarterback of the niners and we’d get to 5-12 record
add in a college caliber QB and you are 9-8.
add in a guy playing better than that and you are 13-4
just goes to show that Brady knew he was done or else he’d have won one with them

Yes exactly
We did draft Brock Purdy. His name was Shaun King. I'm so tired of hearing about this guy.
Purdy would not be successful here, but trask I still believe he is the better qb than mayfield
Nobody drafted Purdy. Even the Niners waited until the 7th round. We also could have used a 7th rounder on Tyson Bagent. He broke division 2 records, so he wasn't unknown. Nobody wanted him. Now he's 1-0 in the NFL as a rookie and might be starter material sooner or later. NFL teams definitely have not mastered the art of drafting QBs. Do you think the bears would trade Bagent for Trey Lance straight up? I doubt it.
two game losing streak
sf has a great defense great coaching staff & great talent around him on offense
makes any quarterbacks job easier.
makes any quarterbacks job easier.
AMEN!! Exactly
Ironically, this is precisely what Canales is trying to implement here. The very nature of his offense is to drop the QB role down to that of a "distributor." And the very nature of a Bowles team is to win with defense. That is the SanFran model, albeit light years behind. :-)
Bowles & Canales may be incapable of pulling it off, who knows? But, one thing that is certain is that they could never pull it off in the time frame that many fans would want, especially when those fans seem to be largely oblivious to the FINANCIALLY-DRIVEN rebuilding underway.
Speaking of SanFran, how did Shanahan do in his first year?
What happened that coincided with the team starting to win?
Granted Lynch/Shanahan took over a bad team, BUT we are not that great either the 2022 team is a LOSING team BUOYED by the GOAT
Brock Purdy had his "Linsanity run" its over for him. He doesn't have the arm strength to be a NFL starter long term.

Shaun King looked pretty good yesterday with that 158.3 QB rating.

Not sure this is the case in THAT offense and with THAT defense.

Yea everything is set up for him. But let's not pretend he wasnt 0-3 without Trent Williams.
Yeah, all QB's would love for their All-Pro OT to play and may struggle without him.
Clearly, he's not Shaun King. But instead somewhere between Shaun King's sorry ass and Tom Brady? Yeah, I'd probably agree.

This didn't age well. Destroyed the Bucs last season and this season. Perfect QBR yesterday. You might think he's a plug and play in Shanahan's offense, but he has poise, confidence, and the ability to make the throws. It was funny after the game Mayfield and him were talking and it looked like Purdy was the same height, or even a tad shorter than Mayfield.
