I STILL cant get over not promoting Coen...it was the easiest layup of all time 😤 .  Coen is going to be an absolute stud coach in this league for years.

Simple Simon.  Again, this was never, ever, ever, ever, ever going to happen.  It’s fun to look back in anger but, man, you can’t run a coach out of town who has been winning the division multiple times.

2026 season is going to be a wasted year for the Bucs

Totally get why  fans would say that, particularly fans unhappy with Bowles as HC, but in reality wasted years are almost non-existent, in part because of the NFL system.

The 2026 Bucs will either go the playoffs (unlikely) and Bowles will get extended (lol) or at the other end of the spectrum they completely fall apart, in which case they finally get a top 10 or top 5 pick.  Even the "somewhere in between" result there will include important milestones (Evans final season?) developments (does McCollum get his head out of his ass?)

Every season is worth watching, but to many fans a season is meaningless in advance because they are looking at it through failed expectations from the past rather than from where the team actually sits at that moment

Thread should be about the glazers. I'm not convinced they're friends with the organization they own. Weird to say. I don't care what Arians says. Our eyes know bowles can't coach for shit. The glazers have to see it too but I don't think they give a shit. Todd is Arians boy I don't expect him to say shit about Todd but the glazers shouldn't been dumb enough to extend or keep bowles past this season even after making the mistake to extend him. Awful owners and yes Brady and earlier gruden bailed this team out from mediocrity. They don't do something unless it's like stare you in the face shit. Like why do they even own this team?

bowles is already extended a few years, even if Bucs make playoffs and go 1 and done as their ceiling, no reason to extend him yet again

Dungy is a foe too, I guess.  And note the part in BOLD, may read familiar:

“That’s the state of affairs, and I think it really demonstrates what we think in this country,” Dungy said. “It’s all about success, it’s all about the immediate, and you have someone like John Harbaugh who has delivered for a long time. I’m sitting here in Tampa now and since coach Harbaugh got fired, that’s all the talk here in Tampa. ‘Well, what about our coach? We should fire our coach. We didn’t make the playoffs this year.’ Even though he went to the playoffs the last three years, even though they’re doing fine. We want to win. We want to win everything right now. It’s just crazy.

“We just need people that are level-headed that think long-term and have some loyalty. If my coach is doing what I ask and everybody in the building is on the same page, that’s what I’m looking for. Yes, the game can be won or lost, a kicker can miss a kick and we don’t make the playoffs, but that shouldn’t be a reflection on the job that my coach is doing.”

To be fair, I think Dungy is spot on in his commentary about the league and even about Bowles, except for one part. The Bucs not making the playoffs last year is a reflection of Bowles coaching. It may also be a reflection of injuries or the OC or missing talent, but he do lose several players and that really on the HC.

Bowles has been bad for a while. Our division sucks. One of us could have coached those teams to division titles. This year injuries happen but that bails out his previous years of not being good? Do people watch this team?

Foe.

he mismanaged the AB situation and cost us and ring. From the Prime special he was close to doing this with Lenny also, if not for Licht.

He cares more about his boys in Leftwhich and Bowles than he does about this organization.

I definitely agree with the part that he cares about his boys more than the organization. I disagree about the AB. AB was a head case. I’m surprised they kept him in check for as long as they did.

You're right.

A division that doesn't produce a single .500 or better team is the cream of the crop.

It may also be a reflection of injuries or the OC or missing talent, but he do lose several players and that really on the HC.

Sometimes, coaches get accustomed to middling success and they become transfixed on NOT building both sides of the ball - let’s say they have an elite defense, but that coach has a college-level offense (OC and talent)..after getting beat by the same team in the 1st round for a few years, and the owners tell you they want you to fire the OC and general one in here, and the coach tells them “no, I’m not doing that” - that’s how you end up fired.

Cuz fans don’t pay top money for your games if you keep playing middling football, repeatedly bounced in the first round of the playoffs for several years in a row - or miss them entirely AFTER revving up the fanbase prior to the season.

Loved Tony, loved the defense he built in Tampa, and the one he built in Indy - but he learned a hard lesson about ignoring one side of the ball.

Which side of the ball has changed - but the same type of lessons keep getting taught.

In this context, Tony may be a foe - and to be honest - I’ve kinda viewed BA a foe since he suddenly decided to retire just before the season, forcing the organization to go into the season with Lefty.

Honestly, something changed and it happened in that Rams game.

You are the kind of poster who will say "Hey we beat the Seahawks" when they hoist the Lombardy; but what you are not putting together is that we wont see that Bucs team ever again under Bowles.

That Rams game was a turning point.

Sure we didn't look great in our losses to New England and Buffalo prior but we never recovered from that Rams loss

Maybe these 2 new coordinators will help but i have my doubts

and look who is in the Super Bowl this year, at 5-1, that Buccaneer team could have certainly made it to Superbowl.  It was there for the taking and we didnt even take the weakest division in football after a 6-2 start lol

You have my posts almost reversed, I think. lol

I agree that the Rams game set the team on a collapse and said that Bowles would get fired as a result (ie he lost the team)

I thought everyone (myself included) underestimated the Patriots.  I recall the usual trolls scoffing at the idea that it was "almost a trap game" while posting that it was "the one we should win of the three"

I would say "hey we beat the Seahawks" to make two points: 1) NFL margin win/loss is small and 2) the circumstances predict outcome almost as much as talent.

It’s a bullshit take.  You know this. The Panthers beat the Rams. The Bucs beat the Seahawks on the road and the Niners.   The Falcons beat the Bills and the Rams.  At some point you just realize the NFL is hard.  There are no easy games or easy divisions. It’s the NFL.  When the discussion devolves to “The NFC South Sucks” you lose me.
