Well, DeBucs, if I'm not buying the narrative that the Bucs are an 0-16 team without Brady like some people say, the other side of that is that they should be better than people think when he's gone IMO.  I think the team will be competitive in what will once again be a terrible division.  There are a lot of good players on the team who are still under contract for next year.  I don't think the coaching situation is as bad as people think.  The QB situation is not good, but that is true for the entire division.  Cam Newton can still claim he's better than all of them, and none of the NFC South teams were bad enough to earn a top 5 pick and get one of the premier QBs unless they trade up.  The NFC South will be ripe for the picking again next year, and I think the Bucs will make it three straight.

Regarding scheduling after the Bills/Bengals postponement, here's proposed a proposed playoff schedule that makes a lot of sense:

Week 19

Bengals/Bills

NFC wild card playoffs

AFC playoff bye week

Week 20

AFC wild card playoffs

NFC playoff bye week

NFL has already come out and stated that the Bills/Bengals game will not be resumed. The game goes down as a no contest. The logistics of trying to move the schedule around was not a viable option.

That’s another option. Nothing has been officially announced, as of yet.

Yes, the Bills-Bengals game will not be resumed and deemed a no contest, and the AFC seeds will be determined by winning %.

I saw a suggestion somewhere on the web today that the #1 seed in the AFC should have a choice of 1. First round bye, or 2. Home field advantage. The #2 seed would get whichever choice the #1 seed passed up. I thought that was a good idea given that it's very possible the #1 seed (probably Chiefs) didn't fully earn it. I thought it was an interesting compromise. Regardless, the Bengals are denied the chance to earn the #1 seed. It's either Chiefs or Bills.

For my own interest I wanted to see where the Bucs would be right now if ATL, CAR or NO won the division. Right now they would be IN. There would be a three way tie between SEA, TB and DET. Bucs have the best conference record and would be in. Only way we would have missed if it came down to a two team tie between TB and GB.

Here's what the scenario would be.

TB clinches #7 seed with WIN plus ONE of the following

-DET win or tie

-SEA win

Wildcard Weekend:

primetime games Saturday evening, Sunday evening, and Monday evening.

I would say the ODDS ARE HIGH that Brady/Cowboys will get 1 of those slots!!!
