They didn't say alterations to the logo. They said a new logo.Sounds like a "drastic" move to me.Also, if there is chrome on the mask, I'm willing to bet it will also be on the helmet to some extent.
New logo = different to me. I think they're referring to a change in color scheme. I think Red and Pewter will still be primary colors (maybe Chrome taking over for Pewter) and the logo will be a bit different - maybe lose the red flag and just have ole Skull N Swords?

Yup the face mask is indeed chrome. The logo isn't changing completely. The goal is to combine elements of the old logo and add a little flavor. Just something else to be excited about.
It will be a variant on the skull and crossbones. Only thing that makes sense IMO.

From what I can tell, there won't be major changes to the colors or uniforms, just a tweaking of the logo and enhancements to the helmet.In other words, no pewter jerseys. Thankfully.

I'm wondering if they're going to be making the helmet a more neutral color to allow the Bucco Bruce logo to be slapped on for throwback games. While they wouldn't be able to switch helmets, if they can just easily remove one logo and put another on it, they could still have the throwback game.

this train of thought combined with the word Hate is getting...sounds pretty good.i keep thinking of rutgers chrome unis - it would be a similar look - but i really dont see them giving schiano the design. something similar to what nike is doing in college will be fun. we dont have a chance at a traditional uni, so might as well go on the flashy side...and the more flashy, the better.
From a glare prospective chrome would be bad. The last thing we want is to force players to use sun shades because their guards are blinding them on sunny days. LOL

If the chrome is blinding Brees that's a good thing. But seriously , It can't be that bad of a distraction for players , if at all. If it was the NFL would disallow it and veto this design.

Why would the NFL care? The team choose it and it impacts them so there's no real issue there.

If too much glare is coming off facemasks it effects everyone on the field , not just our team ...if it was a distraction , of course the NFL would care. It hurts the product on the field.Besides , it's not like this has never been done before. Teams wear chrome facemasks and chrome helmets in college all the time with no complaints of glare. It's NOT an issue.
They can make the chrome facemasks work by having the helmet color run down the center like so......
If we had all chrome helmets it would be a different story. Chrome helmets in the sunshine state is just a flat out bad idea.
