NFL field goal mark not what Bucs are aiming forGreg Auman, Times Staff WriterSaturday, November 14, 2015 It is a dubious honor, as all-time NFL records go, but the Bucs and their less-than-stellar red-zone offense are on course to challenge the league mark for field goals attempted in a season: 52, set by the 2011 49ers.The Bucs have attempted 26 in eight games, four more than any other NFL team this year, and well on pace to beat the team record of 39, set by the Bucs' Super Bowl squad in 2002.And despite changing kickers early in the season, the Bucs are tied for the NFL lead with 19 made field goals — Connor Barth is 13-for-14, which makes him the league's eight-most accurate kicker among those with 10-plus attempts. The Bucs would rather see Barth work on those extra-long extra points instead — he has attempted only eight in four games, making all eight.
