A Tampa Bay Buccaneers Complete 2014 NFL Mock DraftBy Erik Lambert - Jan 30th, 2014 at 9:30 pmNov 23, 2013; Iowa City, IA, Iowa Hawkeyes tight end C.J. Fiedorowicz (86) catches a touchdown pass against the Michigan Wolverines at Kinnick Stadium. Reese Strickland-USA TODAY Sports They don’t have a lot of picks to spare so the Tampa Bay Buccaneers must make them count. How does their 2014 NFL mock draft hold up? Round 1 – Kony Ealy – DE – Missouri Lovie Smith must recognize that if his defense is going to become a great one, which they can, he needs a pass rusher. Jadeveon Clowney is possible but not likely, but Kony Ealy of Missouri would be a high quality consolation prize. He has the size and strength to fit the defensive end role in the Smith Tampa 2 system and exhibits outstanding speed and hand usage coming off the edge, allowing him to find lanes to the quarterback. Round 2 – Antonio Richardson – OT – Tennessee Problem abound for the Buccaneers offensive line and they have to start adding some help, preferably at the tackle spots. Antonio Richardson has started the past two seasons for Tennessee at left tackle. His size and strenghth allow him to dominate in the run game while his heavy hands and long arms can wall off pass rushers provided he’s able to get hold of them. Round 4 – C.J. Fiedorowicz – TE – Iowa If Mike Glenno is the guy, and for the time being he is, then TampaBay must give him every opportunity to thrive. Adding another offensive weapon at the tight end position would be a big help. Most might overlook C.J. Fiedorowicz as more of a blocking tight end, which he is a good one, but the kid is deceptively athletic for his size and has the speed to gain separation from coverage to make tough catches. Round 5 – Jeff Janis – WR – Saginaw Valley Clamoring has gone one among Tampa Bay Buccaneers fans about adding more speed to the wide receiver position to compliment the bigger Vincent Jackson and Mike Williams pairing. Jeff Janis is a name most won’t recognize, largely because he comes out of small SaginawValley. However, after a strong Senior Bowl showing the young receiver is on a lot of radars due to his 6’2? frame, sub-4.4 speed and outstanding production. Round 7 – John Urschel – OG – Penn State Guards are typically a position that can produce quality talent late in draft. The Buccaneers get a highly overlooked one when they select John Urschel. His great strength isn’t his size or power, both of which he has in abundance, but his remarkably keen mind. Not only a top guard in his conference, Urschel is an academic All-American. He is a thinker of the game and that should help him develop quickly. http://nflmocks.com/2014/01/30/tampa-bay-buccaneers-complete-2014-nfl-mock-draft/
Uhhh no
Wait, so our RT grades out as the best in the game last year while LT is still at least average yet it's that position that should be "preferable" over trying to find an OG that is healthy and good?
ugh. id much rather -1 - trade down - aaron donald2 - brandin cooks3 - michael sam/jeremiah attaochu4 - arthur lynch5 - OL depth7 - OL depth
charlie campbell currently has aaron donald at 37. so going off his current preditctions...alex mack, ed dixson, louis murphy/riley cooper, jason worilds, erin henderson/pat angerer, nolan carroll.trade down and pick up a third (i know i know)1 - darqueze dennard - cant have enough CBs2 - aaron donald - insurance at UT, keeps mccoy fresh, and could be a great combo on passing downs.3 - michael sam-jeremiah attaochu-brandin cooks-lamarcus joyner. number of different routes...would like a speed rusher.4 - josh huff-arthur lynch. more weapons5 - tyler larsen - thought to be a 4th, but any OL help. would even use the 4th depending on FA.7 -
If we pick Ealy at 7. Our GM needs to be fired.

A lot of people would've said that if Sheldon Richardson would've been drafted number 1 overall last year. Yet, he turned out to be the best player in the draft. Therefore, he would've been worth it. The problem with making dumb statements like the one you made is that you have been dealt the idea of perceived value from the internet and so called "experts". So, when you see a guy like Ealy go 7th overall instead of late 1st round, you automatically believe that the GM got wrong and all of the experts (who aren't working in the NFL BTW) got it right. In reality, you just have to be patient to see if the player pans out or not. No one in their right mind is going to fire a GM for taking a guy like Ealy at #7. Get over it.
Have yet to see a mock I like outside of these boards. Gametimes' is nice though.

Exactly. Now that we have competent employees running the building at One Buc Place, Bucs fans should sleep easy before the draft. We should know that any decisions made come May were the right decisions which were made by seasoned professionals who have been pouring over game film all year long. I fully trust that those guys are going to make the right choices for the team and will eventually bring us to the promise land.
Well, I am a big fan of the Lovie hire but he did have some rough drafts in Chicago. I do believe this staff will get it right, but he has made some crap picks... though, who hasn't I suppose? haha
Gametimes' is nice though.
probably because I keep stealing your players/ideas!

Dotson can move to left , though .The middle round picks aren't bad . Ealy is somewhat of a reach but the pick could be worse ( See Derek Carr )

I'd feel better with Schiano drafting than Lovie......it's no coincidence that the last two drafts were considerably better. Forget the Barron/Martin/David...just look at the late round guys....Spence played servicbly all 16 games starting. Gholston flashed, James was arguably our best RB, Tandy played 5 games and had 3 picks. Not to mention the wvu LB that we cut and ended up starting for the eagles. And despite getting burned a few times Banks did shut down CJ and got stuck playing across from Revis as a rookie.
