#5 Passing yards allowed per game#15 Rushing yards allowed per game#6 Yards per play#12 sacks#24 scoring defenseOverall, Bucs have improved rush defense against the league average and scoring defense (dead last a few weeks ago, and they did have a bye week)). Still, it is still not good enough, but I think they can fix these issues. Run defense is actually looking a lot better and showing signs of progress. Pass defense is slipping, but I think that is a factor with all the shuffling on the back end with the starters. Bucs are clearly not settled or satisfied with a set of DB's yet. I personally think they should settle on a set of starters and finish the season out with said players. As I said at the start of the year, when a team plays musical chairs with a position they were not happy with said position. It happened last year with the guard position under Lovie's watch as well as the return game.Bucs also slipped in terms of sacks generated, but the Redskins offense were a top unit in sacks allowed heading into the contest, so this is not surprising. If the Bucs scoring defense improves by one touchdown the Bucs will be in position to win football games this year and be a lot more competitive based on what the Bucs offense is showing.Someone asked me is it theoretically possible the Bucs defense finish in multiple categories top ten in defense but be at the bottom of scoring defense? The answer to that question is yes, and it is an anomaly but also an important indicator to show the defense is middle of the road average, but not poor contrary to what is hyperbolic posted on the red board. There are worse defenses in the NFL this season that are really bad and then there are some defenses that are simply brilliant (eg Broncos).
