Cute guys get all the breaks.
most of the anti-glennon posters on this board wouldn't be satisfied with GOD as qb and 10 of his angels on offense with him. haters just hate! they don't need to be intelligent or patient.
Every time I start to think the Tampa Bay Buccaneers need to do something dramatic at quarterback, the same thought pops to mind: Lovie Smith got to the Super Bowl with Rex Grossman. If he can do that, he can do the same with Mike Glennon. I'm not saying Glennon's the next Joe Montana. But I am saying he's as good as Grossman was in the 2006 season for the Chicago Bears. In fact, Glennon has more upside than Grossman ever did, and that might be enough to get the Bucs out of a drought in which they haven't won a playoff game since their Super Bowl victory more than a decade ago.

And if Glennon doesn't progress, what do the Bucs do then? The Bucs need a quality back-up with starter experience that can take over if need be and they need a to draft an insurance policy if Glennon doesn't pan out. With that being said, I leave the Bucs QB decision to the Professionals. If they determine that Glennon isn't the answer then I'm ok with drafting a QB high in the 1st round.

Glennon is god now? And I thought the Peyton Manning comparisons were ridiculous.

and you are??
10lb and Deloris are correct. Just listen
If lovie wants average results from an average qb, he's got his man.
Any QB who takes his team to the Superbowl in 2014 with a below average OL and no great receiving weapons is as much of a franchise QB as you will ever find. If you watched the games you understand that what he did was monumental. If you are just looking at the stat sheet you aren't getting the complete picture of how Russell Wilson led his team to the Superbowl. As for Glennon, he is what he is. Just like FRG layed out in another thread. Look at Grossmans td int ratio. He threw a lot of picks because he was trying to be a great QB. He was only average and he didn't have a ton of weapons. But that is the difference between Grossman and Glennon. Glennon is trying to not screw up and be an effective game manager. I think there is something to the argument that if you aren't trying to be a great QB you will probably never be one.
I think that comment is note worthy, I think it was more Glennon was told not to screw it up, and was doing what he could under orders. That is just my opinion, and I'm on the fence with Glennon, but I think my reservations with him are more due to Heckle and Jeckle, the talking magpies that were Head Coach and O.C. last year..I think this is truly a make or break offseason for Glennon (fair or not, Lovie and company aren't here to take on a long rebuild project, they are here to get this going quickly). If Glennon shows Smith and Tedford that he can handle Tedford's system, I wouldn't be surprised to see either Matthews or Watkins be the pick at 7. Otherwise, we may see Bortles or Carr get picked.

Lovie has proved he is accepting of average, he stuck with Grossman for a few years.
Question though, don't the Bucs because of a coaching staff change, get an additional minicamp session? If so, do they get to do it prior to the draft?
Benchwarmer#1: "If lovie wants average results from an average qb, he's got his man."Average would be a substantial upgrade from his previous offenses.
I don't think he needs an upgrade. He could very well become a very good QB.I do think we need a backup plan that works though (McCown and Garoppolo.)

Yes. and Yes.

Who would want imaginary people playing on their team? Now if you meant Montana with a side of Rice then who wouldn't want that!
