Licht doesn't sound cooked to me. Joel Glazer
"Last season started out great, didn’t end so well. Obviously, we were disappointed. Obviously our fans are disappointed. But there’s always a little more to it, you know. Every team has injuries but there were significant injuries last year at significant positions. And, a lot of close games down the stretch didn’t go our way. But we’re trying to build a championship team and you can try and throw a dart every year, or you can try to build a Super Bowl winning team. And we feel like we have a great team and we’re constantly building, building, building — adding to the foundations of what we have. And if you look at our roster, look at our team, we think we’re great in a lot of spots, but like a lot of teams you have to add. Obviously, ultimately the head coach is the one who has [the won-loss record] fall at his feet, but I know Todd is very respected in the locker room and nobody wants to win more than Todd."
So the Glaziers are cooked 😂
Interesting. Allow me to say that the NFL is full of coaches who are respected in the locker room and no one wants to win more than they do......but they don't......because they just can't seem to possess something that others have in their makeup as head coaches.Licht doesn't sound cooked to me. Draw your own conclusions.
Look we know this team doesn't win with Bowles as the HC but the least Licht can do is stack enough talent where the Bucs can overwhelm most teams during the regular season.
The we will coach them up attitude did not work last season which is why re signing a player like Feeney isn't going to change the results of last season into a new season. The Feeney re signing and bringing back JPP is just pure desperation and not serious about bringing in talent.
Gruden did a similar thing signing Tim Brown as a punt returner when he was way past his prime.
You can't be afraid to do better and right now Licht is going back to players he can 'trust" like JPP and Feeney but in the end the goal of a GM is to find players that are better. JPP is no way near the best edge on the market at the time he was signed. And re-signing Feeney isn't any indication he is the best OL on the market either.

yes, for sure
It seemed to me that Bowles lost the locker room last season and that is usually the end for a coach. I guess we will see.
The reason why this team and Licht are cooked because they are okay with that status quo and have not made any adjustments to how they conduct business. They are just going through the motions as if they are a franchise that can not control their own fate.
Meanwhile other franchises are making moves to try to do better than the previous year. This team is set up to be on auto pilot and not try to deviate from the script even when the script gets blown up like we saw in 2025.
Its pretty obvious they think the "script" blew up in 2025 due to injuries and weaknesses they think they've addressed or will address in the rest of the offseason.
We will all get to see if they are right or wrong

in their eyes, they gave us a superbowl in 2020 with tom frickin Brady and can give a shit about the present
maybe in 2030 we will be relevant again

Maybe lol. I mean the decision to stick with Bowles this season is their decision, not Licht, although it sure seems like Licht and Arians were in Bowles corner (and Shelton Quarles and Derrick Brooks etc).
As Ive posted before the disconnect between the Red Board and the Bucs owners/FO seems to be that many on the Red Board see Bowles as the guy who ended the greatness (after all he killed Tom Brady in 2022) and the Bucs owners/FO seem to see Bowles as they guy who SUCCESSFULLY navigated the Bucs through a period that they thought would be Trask-led hard times because of the dead cap etc.
That "SUCCESSFUL NAVIGATION" certainly fell apart in 2025 . . .BUT . . .
If you view the Bucs as never better than mediocre under Bowles (the way many anti-Bowles posters describe the team) you fire Bowles at the end of the 2025 season
HOWEVER, if you view the Bucs as being unexpected relevant because of Bowles (Canales, Mayfield, Coen) you probably dont fire that HC of 2023 and 2024 for a bad 2025, ESPECIALLY if you attribute some of that poor play in 2025 to injuries AS THE BUCS OWNERS AND FO CLEARLY DO. or maybe even the OC (because Bowles record 2 and 1 on successful OC's)

Or, maybe one might say they gave us a SB in 2020 and that the cost of that SB plus the very real cost of the unsuccessful "run it back" in 2021 and even then compounded by the Brady late return in 2022 . . . . left a BIG bill, both in terms of dead cap and need for players (The Bucs 2021 draft for example is a "run it back" need pick in JTS and a "cheap QB for the future" pick in Trask.)
RIGHT ON CUE . . .in today's coverage this from Licht after he was asked how the team reacts to what Evans departure might say about the state of the team
"I will say that I don’t want to get too deep with the conversations that we had. I don’t necessarily think that it’s because he thought it was a better situation [in San Francisco]. OK, so, you know, he made a decision to begin a new chapter, but I don’t know if it was because he thought it was a better situation."
Oh, sure. I have no doubt Evans took less money to go somewhere that he didn't think was a better situation. Makes perfect sense. He could have just as easily to took less money to play for the Jets.
Simpletons and their owner/coach/GM/player-speak. They fall for it every fuggin' time.
Biggs that's pathetic clipping of a quote. You must be having a bad day. 0 for 2.

Nah.
WE moved on from him. He didn’t leave us. It was all part of the plan.
Remember?
Aw they're back!

i'd argue 2021 was more exciting than 2020! we were dominate and firing on all cylinders. That wasn't an issue. Clearly for the debatable dans, 2020 was more successful and will be remembered in eternity but just saying 2021 was our most successful regular season in franchise history so i wouldn't call that a failure.
2022 turned out to be a fools errand with Gronk, Marpet, AB, and Bruce Arians retirements and career ending Ryan Jensen injury.
to me, not having a top 15 head coach is holding us back. I like Todd Bowles the person, would love to go to church with him but he is bottom half head coach, even in his best years with Tampa. That is a real cost.
Jason Licht being a mediocre GM and honestly outside of 2018 through 2021 prompting him up, one might argue overrated GM is also not great.
2026 is a huge year. I think the Glazers like both Licht and Bowles but feel Licht may have a little bit more rope...but a 6-11 record next year could change all of that.
