Lets not forget 2012 either. 1-6 to end the season. We ended that season with a win another a team in the Falcons that had nothing to play for. 1-14 skid before the team started winning a few games. Schiano deserved to be fired before the win streak came around against bad teams.

Its not always about the win/loss record. Its about the whole package. Take for instance, Gus Bradley. You could argue the fact he had a worse season than Schiano. But will he be canned? No way, in their situation they are more concerned with building a winning team, than the record itself.
I'm resigning to the disappointment of having to take a year off from giving a crap about this team. Maybe I'll start following the nba again.

The Glazers seem like decent people. It is entirely possible they went to Schiano and let him know he was done after the season and suggested he do so on his own terms to save himself some face. That would explain the Penn State thing. It is possible to do good business without being a jerk about it. Besides, if he takes another job they are free of the last 3 years of his contract.
