http://thepewterplank.com/2014/02/20/rumor-tampa-bay-buccaneers-interested-tackle-branden-albert/ I'm all for improving the OL, but I think he'd not really be much of the "value" that Licht says he wants.
I think there's a tweet in the FA sticky about this...
Bring him in.Cut Joseph.. Trade Penn..
If he comes at around the same price we are paying Penn, I would call that a good signing to then drop Penn, but I have a feeling Albert will be asking for more.
He's a very solid pass blocker with some recent injury issues. I think he'll command a pretty big salary though
At the combine Lovie said the OL did not live up the $$.

And the guards are....?

THIS excites me.
If this means we are getting rid of Penn and replacing him with Albert then great. It wouldn't cost too much more than what Penn makes.

The guards suck anyway.Penn can't play guard and Davin can't either.
It would cost us about $2M more per year to replace Penn with Albert. That's value.
This excites me. Not only because it would significantly upgrade the line (hopefully), but it would also make the decision to pick at 7 or trade back easier.
People must think value is thrift store shopping.
I'd be happy with Jared Veldheer or Eugene Monroe if Branden Albert is not feasible for whatever reason. I'd also pick up a guard in the draft to replace Davin Joseph.
I guess I'm tired of watching high priced O-linemen sitting in the trainers rooms. I'd be hesitant to pay big $$$ to a 29 yo guy with a history of back issues.
