Bring him in.Cut Joseph.. Trade Penn..
And the guards are....?
The guards suck anyway.Penn can't play guard and Davin can't either.
Damn right they do. Zuttah should probably be one of them. Bring in a rookie and a mid tier FA to play C and the other OG.Lol at the thought of Penn playing OG.
OG Jackson, OT Wentworth and OT AlbertRedo both Penn and Joseph (currently $8.08M and $6M respectively) contracts to favor the team ( $3M each) and make them earn it in training camp - if that don't work, cut them and go with the new guys.
.....and if the Bucs know that they are absolutely going to replace Penn, then just wait til May. There are plenty of OTs who they could draft with the first or second rounders who could replace him.
I'd be happy with Jared Veldheer or Eugene Monroe if Branden Albert is not feasible for whatever reason. I'd also pick up a guard in the draft to replace Davin Joseph.
Everytime I read that name (Veldheer), I think of this pic...I can't recall watching dude play but he looks like he devours small planets

I doubt the Bucs are going to go in a spending spree like that for more OL. I feel that Lovie and Licht are going to build the lines mostly through the draft with the thought that it might take more than a single offseason to get them to where they need to be.
You don't get rid of Penn until you have signed Abert and it is a done deal....but if we do sign Albert, you don't just cut Penn. He is a valid starting option at LT and for the teams that need a LT and miss out on one in FA, somebody would give up draft pick for Penn. They'd have us at a disadvantage because we'd need to get his salry off our cap and be forced to cut him if nobody traded for him....but again, if you don't have a valid LT and Donald Penn is on the trade block, you go get him. I guess my point is that we wouldn't be cutting Penn. We would get a mid round pick for him. I don't think we'll get sh!t for Joseph....but Penn is not nearly as bad as many seem to think.
#Bucs Smith on whether Carl Nicks will be able to play: “I think that’s still up in the air. He’s making progress...''

It's bad business to make a player take a paycut in the spring and then release them in August/September.
Released if they don't earn it - have to make the team.
there is only two LT worth a big contract, Veldheer and Monroe... Pass on Branden Albert, he is slightly better than Penn but near 30... there is no long-term value and if you sign Albert you have to offer guaranteed money!

Yes, I know what you meant. It's bad business between the teams and player/agent. If the team approaches the player about a paycut and he takes it, it's generally a guarantee of a roster spot because the player is giving up the opportunity to be a free agent. Gruden/Allen did this with a player, forget who, and took heat for it.
Veldheer probably gets resigned if the Raiders are smart...they do have a mountain of cap space to use up so I'd be shocked if they allow him to walk.
This sounds like a Dominik move. overpay for an old injured OL who isn't any better than Penn anyway? The best thing that could happen is we draft 2-3 OL this year. It is a good class. We can really build this offense from the trenches like it needs to be. No more band aids.....please!
Value can mean anything to different people. To the starving man a $20 dollar loaf of bread is value.

Monroe isnt leaving Baltimore. Ozzie didnt trade picks for a 1 year rental.
