Could be Lovie's version of Adam Hayward.
I really don't understand why the Bucs wouldn't bring Adam Hayward back...he is cheap (probably around $1M...that's what he made last yr) and he was the Capt of the Special Teams. He is a proven hard worker, damn good special teams player, and damn good second team LB. He knocked Megatron around pretty good to break up a pass this year in Detroit.

I absolutely agree, Adam isn't just a special teamer, he's an important part of this team. He can swing into almost any linebacker role and does a good job, not to mention he's respected in the locker room. For 1M, that's a steal in my book. I hope we bring Adam back, but we still could use a few more backups.
Cutrera, Watson, Hayward, and Casillas are all free agents.LB is a need as the Bucs have a hole at starting SSLB and no backups at MLB or WLB.

Cutrera can kick rocksWatson and Hayward should be brought back. Casillas im on the fence with but i am fine if we bring him backif it was an either or situation between Casillas and Watson im bringing Watson back. hes a good passrusher and a great special teamer as a gunner and hes blocked several kicks
I think the draft has got some nice backers and I'm always hearing about how a 1st round linebacker is one of the safer picks statistically. But I'm not seeing a lot of talk for our team to be picking up a linebacker early in the draft, despite the hole at sam. I attribute it to the league moving to more 3 and 4 wide looks, which has dictated defenses into nickel & dime personnel. An interesting thought though, do you think about a linebacker at pick 7? or even in a short trade down scenario, say in the middle of the first? Remember, Lovie loves his linebackers.

no absolutely notits terrible value. there isnt a single linebacker that i consider worth a 1st round pick for us. you will see a lot of good linebackers going in the 2nd-4th round this year. SAM isnt a premium spot with how little they play on passing downs

I guess its more in line with the theory from this board that Mason would make a good Sam and you draft a guy like Mosley for Mike, who seems to be the only surefire 1st round LB in this draft (Outside of tweeners Barr/Mack). But I guess you have to like Mosley for that to happen.
I think there might be a few teams that have been watching Dekoda Watson and wondering why the phux we don't use him more. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if he gets a better offer from someone else. We'd be wise to try and get him resigned before FA period starts.

He may be overpaid on the open market so no point in a bidding war for a 2 down SAM.Bucs LB corpse is going to be rebuilt with David as the cornerstone. Foster's future is in the air.
I don't know much about Barrow, but we are going to draft a linebacker at some point. That's just a fact. There's just no way we'll fill 4 linebacker spots with FAs, and they are core special teams players typically. I don't see anybody who makes much sense for us in rounds 1 or 2, but after that...
theres a bunch of guys i like in the later rounds at LBi had Kevin Pierre Louis from BC as a target for a while and then he blew the Combine up with his workout
Please do not draft any LSU Busts.

Freudian slip?

Watson and the other backups are decent special teams guys. But you can get that out of a late round draft pick, and pay him less.
