This weekend features 8 of the top ten QB's in the game. Rivers, Manning, Luck, Brady, Brees, Wilson, Kap, Newton.....So the BUCS need a QB. What do we have to do to get that guy? I know that there has been many topics talking QB, but give us your best scenario on how we get that guy. Do we have that guy? Can we trade for that guy? Is there a back up guy that we could grab? Do we draft that guy? If so, who is it? Not just a name, but spell out the scenario and try to make it logical.

The problem with having, or not having, a great QB is that you never know how great they are unless you play them for enough years to determine they aren't it.I would say drafting a QB is best case, but Drew Brees sort of proves that a mid round draft pick can become great after spending five years with their first team and being traded. (Side note: Your avatar is a bit creepy staring at me while typing this reply out.)

No way of knowing yet whether we have that guy or not. Given your list only Cam and Luck were the only first rd QBs that had success thrir first year. Peyton sucked his rookie year, Brady and Brees rode the bench, Wilson and Kap were 2nd and 3rd rounders. Glennons stats while mostly short yardage, look good for rookie standards. If you are expecting a rookie QB to show up and blow up with out a few years under his belt you will be disapointed.

Yo Captain Crunch! Everything you say is true. I am just wondering what the people think. That is why I typed, do we we have that guy? Here is something to throw out...just for conversation (bashing) and to add to the topic. Also to jump on the back of the late round picks you mentioned. Logan Thomas, QB - VT. 6'6" and 250ish lbs. Cannon for an arm, runs well, and has a good football IQ. A Cam Newton comparison.

I'm warming up to Blake Bortles, but apparently, so is the Houston media, so maybe he goes #1 over Bridgewater:  http://houston.cbslocal.com/2014/01/05/meet-the-texans-next-franchise-qb-blake-bortles/

cam, kap, and wilson (in that order) are the QBs that don't get into the post season without the defense they have now.  Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees (in that order) can make it to the post season without a great defense.  Brady being the harlem globetrotter of the NFL...lol...and no, not forgetting about rogers and the rest...Sure it is possible we do draft a QB, it seems the right thing to do, with the new coach and all.  It just is not gonna happen.  We are not a team with a new coach picking 1st in the draft.  Also, this draft is not ten miles deep at the QB position.  Also, I can almost guarantee there will be atleast three QBs that go before we pick.  And hypothetically speaking say we did pick a QB.  It would be somewhere around the 4th or 5th one left to pick from, and they would not even come close to what we have with Glennon.  One thing we know about Glennon that we are certain about is that is not a mobile guy, if you want to talk flaws that is.  If you want a top QB, you have to trade to #1, that is your only choice.  The bucs are not in that kle shay situation to go after or draft QB, if they did it would be a panic pick, a wasted pick, and a reach. You make a good point though, we really do need a good QB, is that Glennon, I don't know....

I would also add that I don't think Kap is a good/great pure QB, it is his legs that sets him apart. Most of his throws are late (last TD to Davis should have been thrown sooner, Davis was running free, the safety was within inches of an interception due to the timing). If the Bucs do draft a QB (for next year or the future)  i hope he is a mobile QB that can pick up 5 to 10 yards on a 3rd down when the pocket breaks down.

I am an avid Virginia Tech Hokie fan. Logan Thomas has good size and a strong arm, but is more of a Josh Freeman than a Cam Newton. He has the physical tools, but sometimes struggles with accuracy. I wouldn't mind spending a 6th or 7th on him, but I wouldn't put my hopes on him being a solution.

The same GM that fired Marty Schottenheimer after a 14-2 season

Logan Thomas is definitely not an NFL quarterback. He shouldn't even have been a college quarterback. He was recruited as a TE out of Highschool and should have stayed a TE. I'm hoping the Bucs grab him late in the draft and make him a TE again. Could be the gem of the draft.

Osweiler in Denver but they aren't going to trade him for a 2nd. They probably wouldn't even trade him at all. They plan on making the transition like Green Bay did with Favre and Rodgers.

Yea he cost himself some money by coming back to VT this year. People were mocking him in the 1st/2nd round in 2013.

I am pretty close to the VT situation. He was very good at TE at Brookville HS. Many a Hokie fan wanted to see what he could have done at the TE position at tech. Beamer's scheme and lack of recruiting skill position players really hurt his chances of doing well at QB (not to mention his inaccuracy issues). I have spoken to Logan and he has been very quiet about converting. From what I know, he will give it his best shot at the the senior bowl. That is what he's concentrating on right now. On a personal note; if he can somehow keep his stupid step-father out of his ear, he might make a good decision.
