Why is this even a story? We spent last year filling up almost 100 pages about why we needed Revis. Yet now it's a good idea to get rid of one of the best CB's in the game? Draft picks or not it won't be a great way of fixing what we have now. It will only create another hole.
The people like shiny new toys.
Ironic considering Revis was the must have Christmas-in-March gift last year on the red board. Following legends like Albert Haynesworth, Asomugha and Ray Edwards. Schiano and Dominik shot their eye out with it.
Uh... yeah it would be. We've already made it through the most risky part of his contract. He made it injury free for the whole year and should be as good as he is going to get this upcoming year. Trading him short of several first round picks would be idiotic.
Nothing like a reporter making themselves the story.
he's the best at what he does, we have plenty of cap space, and if we get a new qb he will be on a rookie contract for the majority of revis contract. there is absolutely no reason to move Revis
however if the rams said they would give up the number 2 pick for our 7 and revis, with Bridgewater on the board i'd strongly consider it.

Bad comparison. Haynesworth, Asomugha, etc were free agent bust signings. Revis was a trade and had a pro-bowl year despite his knee not being fully recovered.Revis wasn't what got Schiano and Dominik fired...that was Freeman.
OK so it makes the Bucs worse in 2014, what's the big deal? It makes us better in 2016, 2017, 2018, etc. After all, this is a rebuilding job whether people want to admit it or not. Also the Bucs salary structure is a disaster. We have 3 of the 33 highest cap numbers of 2014, and none of them is a QB.
Because the QB we picked sucked.
Yeah, Glennon does suck, badly.
How can you call it a mistake without knowing the compensation?
This is beyond obvious. If a deal is good enough, you make it. We're 4-12 with him. Dominik sucked and there's zero depth on both lines. That isn't built overnight. There are some pieces here but 8-8 would be a miracle next year. Take emotion out of it. IF, and it is an if, the deal makes sense...you make the deal.
I can't believe people are still actually talking about giving Revis up. This team has sucked in the backfield since 2007. Coaches and players. Yes, even with Barber back there they didn't stop anyone. Barber was obviously a terrible mentor as no one on this team could play corner. Now you want to have nothing but hope at corner by dumping Revis? The want it now generation is laughable. This team never gets the luck and giving up a known commodity for chance is crazy. Any defense that can't utilize Revis is outdated and useless in the modern NFL.

Therein lies the issue...you are claiming "giving up". Who says give him up? If the deal is right you make the trade. He'll be on the other side of 30 before the team is ready to compete for a title I'm afraid.

Freeman may have gotten Dominik fired but Schiano got Schiano fired.

That is nonsense. This team isn't that far off. Smart football decisions and actually spending to the cap would go a long way.
I wouldn't absolutely rule it out; 'tis the season to LISTEN to anybody and everybody for trade opportunities. If we were offered an early #1 AND either a #2, or another #1 next year, I would have to think long and hard on that... Lovie, despite frequent denials, is STILL strongly associated with Tampa 2 in other GMs' minds...

You're crazy. No way.
why is this a thread?
