I'm sorry, forgot how this one started. Obviously trading Revis is dumb
I don't see how anyone could make a decision on this either way without knowing the compensation. I like having Revis on the team as much as anyone, but there are offers I would accept. What would help the team more- Revis or fixing the entire oline? You guys really need to look at the bigger picture. The early 90s Cowboys dynasty was built on the Herschel Walker trade.
To all you Trade Revis homers on this board I have a question? Who is going to take his spot and even put up half his production?? Nobody in FA or the draft!! I can't wait to see Revis at 100% healthy this year! I can't understand the logic in the team trying to get better by trading the best CB in the league with nobody to replace him with. Our secondary would be a disaster once again without Revis.
I love the idea of trading Revis. 16 million for a CB is a disgrace. Bring in Tillman and Grimes and we would still have money left out of that 16 mill to spend. Plus we could get some draft picks in return to fill other holes.
The BUCS already have enough cap space and no CB on the FA market can even come close in production.
We don't need a 16 million dollar CB. Two good CB would be great if we bring in some pass rushers with that money . QB has all day to throw it doesn't matter who's playing CB. I rather have 3 more good players and 2 more draft picks than a 16 million dollar CB. Especially if he is not gonna fit well in the defense. It depends on what we get in return obviously. I would definitely be listening to all teams.

if the browns traded their 2 firsts this year I would draft Justin Gilbert and darneze dennard to take his place.

To watch those rookies get schooled by Brees and the crew, Roddy and Julio, and Steve Smith? No thank you. That's just an example of wanting shiny new toys.

i hadn't thought of that. We should trade away our first round pick for a proven commodity.

The problem with trading Revis is now, all of a sudden, cornerback becomes a pressing need. Regardless of how Revis was used last season, the former Defensive Player of the Year was easily the Buccaneers best defensive back, and while even at less than 100 percent, still recovering from offseason ACL surgery, Revis was a dominant corner who shut down half of the field just by his presence. Revis helped the Buccaneers secondary move from the 32nd ranked pass defense in 2012 to the NFL’s 17th best unit last year. The next issue is where does his replacement come from? Now it means the Bucs No. 7 selection in the upcoming NFL Draft would most likely have to be a cornerback
Sorry, but this is horsepuckey.First, Corner is already a need. What is a better way to address that need -- paying 16 million and picks for one guy, or getting multiple picks and $16 million in cap space to get multiple corners? Obviously the latter. Fans here are enamored of the big name, but the reality is your pass defense is going to be picked on at the weakest point. Second, please stop with the "shutting down half the field" BS. THat expression comes from a different age of football. The 80s already got Radio Shack back, now they want that outdated expressionThird, trading Revis in NO WAY means we would spend a first on a CB. We might but there are many different ways to use the picks and space we get from trading him, so pretending that spending our 7th on a CB would become almost mandatory is just hyperbole

there are many ways to skin a cat.
That's true, but you have to bread them just right.
