Top 5 cap numbersBucs- 62.4M49ers- 36.9MPicks in first 3 roundsBucs- 249ers- 5Guess they're doing it wrong? They need to use our model since it's so perfect.

That's good for them.

A team that's been to back-to-back-to-back NFC Championship games runs their team the exact opposite as the Bucs and all you have to say is "That's good for them" ? You know how I know you're beat?

Do you sense anyone is arguing with you that we would rather have our roster to San Fransisco's?  Do you really need us to tell you:  "Yes, JC, we'd prefer to have drafted really well over the last 5+ years."?  But Damn, you're picking at like one of the only acquisitions Dom made that has done shit for us on the field and is worth shit to us moving forward.

they are in a great situation right now.  but they better win it fast before quan, gore and smith retire, and extensions come due for kaep, crabtree, aldon and vernon.  plus who knows how long harbaugh will stick around?but they are in great shape this year

Well, pretty good shape this year.  They are 13-whatever the cap goes up mil under right now, but that's with some pretty significant pieces from last season's team not under contract for 2014.  Their current unsigned list includes:  Anquan Boldin, Donte Whitner, Tarell Brown, Jonathan Goodwin, Phil Dawson, Mario Manningham, Kassim Osgood, Eric Wright, Colt McCoy, Anthony Dixon, Perrish Cox, Demarcus Dobbs, Michael Wilhoite.  So Quan is already gone unless they dip into what room they have to resign him.  You have to suspect he'd take a healthy chunk of that available room.  Gore is a clean cut going into the last season of his contract.  That would get them 6.5, but he is the heart and soul of that offense if not the entire team.  Kap, Aldon, Crabtree, and Mike Iupati all enter the final season of their deals.  Kap and Aldon will get huge pay increases.  Iupati will come up.  Mike figures to come up some if they keep him.  I don't know if you let Colin or Aldon play through their final season and then try to renegotiate?  That is a risky move.  They've got some tough choices for sure.  Still would love to be in their position tho.

Revis is different from the other 52 players because we gave up a #1 and #3 to get him. The move was saying "The Revis deal makes us an elite team. Let's not wait until 2014, let's get him now!". And after defending the Glazers on here for years about the spending, I lost a lot of respect for them as owners after they allowed Schiano and Dominik to trade a future 3rd round pick when they obviously didn't have job security. I got the $50M number by taking our current cap space (18M) and add Revis' 2013 and 2014 cap numbers. If Dominik didn't make the Revis deal and was still here the chances of him signing Revis as a UFA would have been alot better than "slim". Probably would have been 50/50. You're about me assuming too much about what Dominik would have done if he didn't sign Revis. He probably would have given Eric Wright an extension after staying clean for 10 days.

The Revis deal was necessary because of the team's lack of commitment for years.  They brought it on themselves.  There were no coaches or players here with experience that were able to give this team any sort of direction as far as defending the pass.  The coaches weren't even teaching them to turn and look for the ball.  Revis is being paid to be a coach and player at the same time.  Which makes Revis worth the 13th pick all day long.  You are complaining about the 3rd?  We are missing out on a top 75 college player that we most likely miss on the pick. Lol. So what.  The team can make one smart move in FA and make up for it.  The Bucs are a better team since Revis got here.  The guy's input was invaluable when you had nothing. Surround him with good CBs that will learn and perhaps we create value players someday.

We're not going to get a roster like SF with a $16M player and 2 picks in the first 3 rounds.

Yeah....one guy is soaking up enough salary to pay two quality players....That's one edge rusher and another CB....Too many Madden gamers on the board...

The Bucs have plenty of room to add two quality players and keep Revis.

Why not trade him and have 4?All the  playoff contenders are doing quite well without a $16 million DB....
