Yes we’re back!! Lol 😂 idk I love this team and celebrate every win but don’t know if this is good long term but oh well, we got 2 Lombardis and tomorrow is never promised! Go Bucs!!
delaney definitely desrves to be out there his movement is so much better than neal he understand nuiances and route combinations with good athleticism
when i say this on the deep out he gives up, hes alreayd playing 15 yards deep the out is gonna be a given but the out side receiver runs a post and he takes a slight inside step to play inside taht says to the qb hey im here but thne continues to close in on the out route, if he doesnt take that slight step it could be an even deeper play maybe even a touchdown with the receiver already winning the inside. small nuances of the game, and slight things that dont show up on the stat sheet but plays in a qbs mind. Delaney is a smart player and i can see hows hes been on this roster for this long

dont worry were gonna get stomped by the 49ers this team doesnt have the heart to hang with them, prove me wrong but we gonna start clsoe than steady eddy get worn down on D
lol ok maybe Daboll is worse than Bowles
Playing with the lead much of the game, 61 plays with 29 runs and that's with Titans bottling up White
Mayfield with a punt-like interception, but still 2 TDs and 18 of 29 for 278 103 rating
7-15 on 3rd downs
Lovie has won back my trust.
Coach of the Year candidate!!!!!!
We beat a crappy team at home, pretty much all there is to say about this game. All wins matter in terms of standings, but not all wins are indicative of the quality of your team. Next week will show what this team truly is about, and since we haven't won against any winning team I don't anticipate a close game.
I scored tickets to the game through a golfing friend. Hyundai Club seats in section 210, 40 yard line, home side. The fan experience is way different than 300 level. Special entrance, enter one hour earlier, huge air conditioned expanse of bars, food, big screen TVs and seating. Great cushioned seats up in the shade. Got parking in lot 3D right next to the stadium. Military parachutists landed on the field. Helicopter flyover. All-services group military oath enlistment at half. Fun day all around. Now to the game...
I don't understand Canales play calling. He needs to mix it up more. The defense seems to know runs are coming on 1st and 2nd down. Frustrating for the fans to watch something so predictable. Wasted downs. Lots of second and longs, third and longs. Lots of groans and comments in the stands about this. This is an ongoing problem and needs to be fixed. At one point, it appeared to me that the Bucs were trying to run out the clock...with 9 minutes left...in the third quarter...
I love Mayfield's moxie and ability to hang in there and make plays. What I don't love is his inconsistency and inaccuracy. Compare his ability with other QBs to get the ball out on time and where the receiver can catch it with little extra effort. Large talent gap there.
The defense was night and day better than it was in Houston. Hard to watch that first drive by the Titans and thinking oh no, here we go again. But they tightened up and held them to a field goal. Got good pressure on their QB and forced him into some bad throws. The defense should have had at least 3-4 takeaways save for their inability to catch the ball. Bottled up #22 and #10, made them non-factors in the game.
The special teams were not so special. Agree with earlier poster not understanding how Keith Armstrong is still coaching ST here. They suck sans the kickers who are very good.
Great to get a win and stop that 4 game losing streak. On to SF. That will be an uphill battle. It will require a near perfect game for the Bucs to leave there with a win.
He’s inconsistent at best. He’ll make a few good throws, make some throws the receivers have to make acrobatic catches on, and then he’ll completely airmail balls. That’s who he is and who he’ll continue to be.
I work with a couple Browns fans, and they said the same thing, almost verbatim, at the beginning of the season. They said he will do just enough to give you hope and then crush you.

You aren't alone with this critique, so let's dive in a little bit on it. Prior to Bucs clearly taking the air out of the ball with 6 minutes left in the 4th quarter up 20-6, there were 24 first down plays. If one were to read the Gameday thread, you would think a run was called on 20+ plays of those 24 first-down plays. In reality, the split was 13 runs to 11 passes. Considering the Titans poor run defense, that is pretty damn balanced. And I'm guessing those first-down splits are going to surprise more than a few people.
With said, there was way to much vanilla within those runs. I'd like to see more tosses, pitches, etc. and get White out into space where he seems to do his best work. But Canales has done an excellent job of staying balanced, especially in wins. He's continued to throw the ball to get the lead and then take the air out at the end of the game, with 7 out of the last 8 plays being runs in the last six minutes. Even with running the ball so much to close out the game, the Bucs finished with 29 pass attempts and 29 rush attempts. The team isn't running too much.

I assume you are talking about the drive in Q3 with 7:31 remaining. That was a touchdown drive that had 8 plays - 4 run attempts and 4 pass attempts. Pretty balanced.
Perceptions aren't always reality.

Honestly tho - we aren’t in the same stratosphere as the Eagles, Bills, Lions, and 49ers (expect an ass licking)
there is two losses where we blew it. The end of our season - Atlanta loss, and the Texans debacle.
the Texans was on the defense.
the falcons was on baker.
so not bad through 9 games, the guy lost us one game.

sound like a one year rental

Seahawks beat Commander yesterday in a game that was tied for first half, then Seattle barely ahead and then trading scores in the 4th quarter.
The stats:
Waldron called 74 offensive plays with 26 rushing plays despite a 4+ average. That's the same run-pass mix (roughy) as the Buccaneers last year . . . the thing Bowles and Canales wanted to chnage
By the way, youre responding to a post expressing angst with the offense . . . . this was the post that got your kniockers twisted
Carroll-style offense would drive some of the fans here nuts
well that post and this . . one . . from another poster
Outside of Waldron it was very vanilla. Expect a ground and pound styled offense because that is what Bowles wants.
:-)

Fair point, but if you look at the early downs where the game play isn't dictating things they do throw. When they had a choice (still in the game, not running 2 minute etc) Canales chose to throw the ball quite a bit. I think maybe it appears as you describe because yesterday they ran a lot of inside stuff with White, except for one good pitch out, and then mixed that up with a jet sweep/reverse whatever wants to call it.
Also, teams that want to maintain balance as a offensive strategy are often going to run on first down because it helps them keep the defense honest (play action set up, slows rushers) and set up explosives, without doing too much harm if the run is sub 3 yards. IF CANALES inherited players, but is WAS BUILDING the team then successful early down running is also very effective at DICTATING the kind of defense you're going to face. This is the key point, it just does not work as well now because right pow we suck at running, particularly INSIDE
Think if the Eagles against us. When the Eagles would run on 1st down for a 6 yard gain they had our defense in a very difficult spot on 2nd down and in successive first dwons they could basically predict what we would put on the filed and then scheme against it
The purpose to "balance" (ie commitment to running) isn't because the coaches just like to run for running sake, its to control the factors they can control (including average to poor QB play). Its the perfect system for Mayfield or Trask and, frankly, what we should've done last year with Brady
