i mean, if the guy was willing to put up with a crap franchise since 2014 sans the Brady years, and the stands are full with his jersey, and he consistently is our #1 WR/target, and get's over 1,000 yards; we'd be borderline criminal not to give him 20-22M per year at a 3 year deal.  Likely lose some fans too.

if he wants more than that, then i agree to let him test market and he can come back to us like Lav David did.

a deal should get done.  whether rebuilding, retooling, or tanking, signing Mike Evans is a must for both football and business reasons

I would be really surprised if they don’t work it out

At the end of the day I don't think the tag and trade will work with Evans.  He has to sign the franchise tag tender to be eligible to be traded.  If he's a free agent, he gets to choose his team.  If he's tagged and traded he doesn't get to choose his team, except for the fact that he has to negotiate a new deal with them.  I just think it could be messy, and we don't want there to be hard feelings from Mike Evans even if he goes to another team. He's a Buccaneer for life. He's going on into the ROH and probably HOF.  There's more at issue here than just squeezing a Day 2 draft pick out of it as much as we could use another one.

Evans may or may not be a Buccaneer next year, but either way they need to tread carefully.  It would not good business to piss off one of the all time favorite Bucs.  Either sign him, or don't sign him.  But don't get involved in a bunch of monkey business with him.

We don’t know the full story

if evans was looking for 5 year deal then he was being ridiculous

if he wants 3, that’s reasonable

now his worth, with inflation, in the $20 to $25 range per year.

If we give him 3 year, $60 million, that’s likely the floor with guys like Godwin and Kirk getting that; evans is better WR

he may test market and I only see a situation where he is playing with Mahomes and perennial SB contender Chiefs as one where we lose out. and they weren’t willing to pay a #1 so we may get lucky there

Other than that we should be able to get a deal done if we are smart

Might have to use the tag on Winfield. Why tf wasn't he already taken care of? He's been an impact player since Day 1. Oh that's right, because they pissed away money on Gage and Jensen.

The cost of Mahomes and Kelce prohibits the Chiefs from spending money on high priced FA players. The couldn't even afford paying LT Orlando Brown. Their play has shown that losing Orlando Brown has hurt the KC Offense.
