Of course you can't fill every hole every offseason, but I am amazed the safety position wasn't upgraded. Granted most will say that Saftey, along with Sam are the least critical parts of a defense. I still feel this group was due for an upgrade and didn't get it. Is someone seeing something I'm not? Nelson, Weddle, Gipson....not a sniff so I assumed we would have come away with something in the draft other than a small school project CB. A new scheme is great, but there is a serious drop off in talent when compared to the other position groups.Tandy - My favorite of the bunch as he has a nose for the ball, but I wouldn't classify him as anything more that a great back up.McDougald - hasn't shown any growth. Maybe that was Lovie's staff, but like Tandy I'd classify him as solid depth.Conte - the prettiest turd? I think he might be the worst starting Saftey in the NFL. He is probably better than a depth player, but the lowest graded starter.Wright - hasn't been able to beat out any of the others so I have little hope.Anyone else seeing this being a major weak link this season.
