A few? 's for those who knows and understands the cap #'s...What cap savings and dead $ do the Bucs create by cutting...Joesph?  Zuttuah?  Penn?  And I understand with the guaranteed $ due to Nicks,  cutting him doesn't make much sense. With that being said do the Bucs have any wiggle room (for lack of better word).retirement settlement?? I also vaguely remembering (and I may be remembering it wrong) reading somewhere that since the Bucs never placed him on IR they have or were setting themselves up for some kind of move... Any help would be appreciated.

Cutting those 3 would save about $18mil and double how much room we have. But you've got to replace them with somebody, and assuming we get upgrades, they'll cost about the same unless theyre draft picks. as for Nicks, the talk about not putting him on IR was to set up listing it as a non football injury. I think that gives them more options legally to keep from paying his contract. But I don't know enough about it to really give a good answer

Thanks. ..that's a pretty cool website and I got the same calculation. As for replacements, guys like Shawartz,  Jon Jerry, Duesses (sp) all seem like viable replacement that wouldnt cost as much.As for Nicks that's what I remember hearing but like you don't know enough about it.

I don't think we get rid of Zuttah. He's too valuable. He can play Center or Guard. Not the best at either, but he's good. And he doesn't get injured.

Good point......However I'd be thrilled to dump at least Penn and Joesph sign 2 cheaper G's and a C and let all 4 (including Zuttah) battle it out for the 3 spots.  If Zuttah wins a starting options great if not I'm much happier with him as a swing back-up rather then Larsen and Mardeth.
