So Mariota gets called the next Rodgers by a Father Dungy, which might be a stretch, but it's possible. Now Winston gets mostly compared to Big Ben assuming he reaches his potential. So let's call them a wash as far as their ceiling is concerned, because we know we would take a player like Rodgers or Rothlisberger. Now how about the floor? Winston's floor seems simple to figure out. Jamarcus Russel. Not only could you have a bust on the field, but off field as well. But what is Mariota's floor? I am struggling to find a good nfl comparison. I think on the field you might end up with an RG3, but Griffen has so much drama surrounding him it's skews the comparison. Harrington maybe, both squeaky clean, but Joey was no where near the athlete Mariota is. Kap maybe? A running QB that maximizes his talent and plateaus after a few years....but with out the drama. So what is Mariota's floor? Has there been a drama and circus free athlete like him drafted high that comes from a spread system. Is there a player you can point to and say, "worst case, we end up with_______."
