Saying what a lot of us know..The front office was too unattractive for a lot of coaches.. Schiano took the job DESPITE the difficulties that anyone would inherit with the situation in Tampa.
He went on to say that Schiano is the best football guy in the building. It sure would have been interesting to see Schiano here with a competent and football strong GM. Instead, he got the Bruce Allen bean counting understudy Lost opportunities in Tampa Bay!
I do not believe Mark and Greg see eye to eye. Mark was in camp Freeman for one thing. Second, I think Greg has been making the calls on draft day.
DUI-meg is a Dummynik apologist...he must've been mad.
Chris pretty much hits on the big perspective of this organization. Worth a listen when the podcast comes out
Great, let's keep Schiano and let him hand-pick his GM so he can build the team he wants. Then we'll be ready to compete in the 1968 championship.

That fear^^ has to be why there are so many anti-Schiano threads and almost no anti-Dom threads (even though Dom is in his 5th year, I think?). I say let them both stay one more year if you must, but if anyone goes now they both should.
Every new head coach inherits problems. If there weren't problems, the old coach would still be there. Not many coaches retire on a high note. Schiano didn't inherit a worse situation than the norm. He had all his draft picks, spent more money in free agency than any other team in the NFL, and could potentially have five Pro Bowl players this season.

the difference is that the primary problem lays at the feet of the GM (and owner). The GM and owners were behind Freeman, Schiano was clearly not. Could buy Schiano a year even if he sucks as a coach . . . which brings us back to the GM (and owners)

Yeah, hearing he's the best football mind in the building is pretty laughable. They really need to clean house if that's true.
This team has plenty of talent to lure coaches. I think Dominik being here has cost us a little bit. But going into 2014 we should have almost an entire new staff. Keep Byner and give Stokes a chance to interview for GM.
Dummynik is definitely no football mind. He's a pinhead ...reminds me off the clueless bean counters working over at PFF.
They should hire some of the football gurus here on the Red Board, then it's Super Bowl here we come ......

Lol with the way people talk around here you would think everyone is a GM

I bet a lot of people here could lead this franchise to 28+ wins over 5 years. I mean we're only taking about going 6-10 every year.
