I have followed the Bucs since inception. When fans talk about coaching, it helps to look at the numbers. To evaluate a coach, the only stat to look at is win/loss record. If the fans looking for a proven professional record in an available coach, then consider the following.Winning is difficult when the rules of the game push for parity. Jon Grudan had a .503 record with the Bucs. Dungy was slightly better at .567. Otherwise, every other coach in Bucs history has a losing record-- some hopelessly so.That said, Dungy’s lifetime record is a phenomenal .668. Cowher is .623. Schottenheimer is .613. Smith is .563. Gruden is .554. Shanahan is .552.Putting together a playoff team in this era is a matter of having a franchise QB, and a stifling defense. The top likely candidates with experience would be Cowher, Smith, Gruden, and Shanahan.
.567 is a lot better than .503Gru won the SB here but was .500 overall. No more .500 coaches.
Dungy can thank Peyton Manning for making him appear better than he really was. Dungy was most likely a handicap for Peyton.
No one stays HC for a long period without a franchise QB. Figuring out if Glennon COULD be one or trying to find another guy to TURN into one should be the #1 priority. We need someone who is not good, but great with QBs.That's why I say we hire Greg Cosell for HC and the PFF staff as the OC.

That's just BS. Dungy did for the Colts what Gruden did for the Bucs. Gruden left the successful defense alone and fixed the inept offense just enough to push them over the top for SB. Dungy did the same thing in Indy, by leaving the offense and Peyton alone and retooling the inept defense and ultimately winning a SB. Indy needed Dungy at that time, just as much as Bucs needed Gruden. Both were the right hires at the right time.

what?!?!Uhhh, Peyton Manning's numbers in the playoffs were very pedestrian under Dungy. Hell even that SB performance against the Bears was meh. If anything he was the reason why they finally got over the hump because of that defense.
