Last year of course the drafting of Winston( a Franchise QB) was a dream come true for the BUCS. Thank You Lovie for losing that last game! However, the picks of Marpet and Smith were need picks based more on hope than being highly rated.  Both on paper looked like a less than 33% chance of success for the Bucs. Incredibly, both became starters and look to be absolutely great picks for the future. Interestingly their selection also involved the Bucs moving up to secure both by trading a later pick. This year was completely different.  The Bucs didn't have the luxury of getting the best player in the draft by having the first pick.  Instead they made another bold move by trading back a couple of spots to get the player most thought the Bucs would take VH. ( arguably technically the best cover corner in the draft) along with another 4 round pick. That brings us to arguably another player the Bucs wanted in the first pick but taking him would have been a bit of a reach at the 9th or 11th spot.  Of course by taking of Hargreaves pretty much eliminated the procuring of the DE considered the best pure pass rusher in the draft who would surely be gone late in the first round according to draft analysts. That he was available when the Bucs pick came in the 2nd round was again a stroke of luck that he was still there and the BUCs were able to get 2 players they coveted for the first round! Now they sat in the third round hopeful that the 69th rated player might be available with their 74th pick in the third round and Licht with another stroke of genius paired with their 4th round pick acquired with their Hargreaves pick ( actually gave away their 4th round pick but still have the one acquired 2 picks later) to secure the best college kicker in history with that 2nd round pick at number 59.  Yes a bold move and a slight reach taking a player rated at 69 by one service  at 59 but most importantly the Bucs got their man for what would have been their 74th pick. With the changing of kicking rules this was a brilliant pick, and unlike last season the Bucs can pretty much punch in 3 starters or major contributors next season. Acquiring Roberto Vernon and Noah all 3 rated the best at important skills the Bucs didn't have last year have made this draft one of the most memorable in years in terms of 3 quality picks.Additionally, as an added importance both Vernon and Roberto will bring in fans from both UF and FSU to attendance. That is not a bad thing at all in terms of those "stupid" gator fans that have been on a crusade against Winston since he was picked.  They now have one of their own on the BUCS how can that be a bad thing?  ;DWith the 4th round coming up could it be possible that the BUCS again strike gold like they did with Kwon?  Stay tuned!  So far I find it incredulous that any Buc fan isn't feeling like Christmas day for the first 3 picks.Getting a kicker that could be "money" for the next 10-15 years was a Cherry on top of this years draft.    Can't wait until the season starts already.  Barring injuries or other events beyond control the BUCS have had a superb draft so far.
