So I've never really understood how the compensatory picks work. From what I read, if we lose Doug Martin and don't sign a FA RB, then we are offered as early as a 3rd rounder. If we sign someone at RB of lesser skill/production, then we get a 7th rounder? i dunno, anyone care to explain?Trying to understand for a friend who is a Chiefs fan, they have some really good soon to be FA's: Derrick Johnson, Eric Berry, Sean Smith, Tamba Hali.
