I think by now everyone appreciates how terrible our safety play is, and Conte goes out every week proving he is far and away the worst starting safety in NFL history.
Anyway, I want to talk about the last play where Grimes made a fanfreakingtastic play on the ball and knocked it up along the sideline. Classic tip drill. Ball falls to the ground, we get a punt, play is mostly forgotten.
That ball should've been picked by any kind of safety with an ounce of playmaking ability or talent. Conte was late getting over as he always is and didn't hustle through the end of the play. So instead of a pick at the 45 with a chance to run, the ball gets punted away and the rest is history.
Our secondary is a mess and there needs to be shakeup. I don't care if its Banks or Verner switching over to safety, but Tandy and Conte are legitimate liabilities with zero net benefit.
