Melton isn't a very good fit at nose and I doubt he'll settle for a backup job behind McCoy. He'll sign a cheap one-year "prove it" deal somewhere as a starter
Yes let's drop a ton if cash and try starting two under tackles side by side and see if it works.....oh wait.....
No room for Tillman? How so?
He may be referring to, if you bring in Tillman you are benching Banks ?
Didn't the owners sound like they weren't happy spending a lot of money?

I don't think it was about the money spent. It was more about the lack of production.

Exactly. Tillman will want big money and want to start. Do you want to sit Banks now or let him continue to develop?
Tillman is the wrong side of 30 and is coming off a season in which he went on IR. He isn't going to get huge money. He'd probably come here for a 4 year $20M deal with $12M guaranteed. We'd most likely get at least two good years from him, so it would be a good signing. As far as Banks goes, he is not great. Hopefully he would be by the time Tillman got to old, but right now is right now and Tillman is clearly better....so you play your best players. Banks would be the #3 CB, which would be good for him because he needs some time to improve his game.
I agree with Jdub.Obtain Allen and Pnut and then the draft you can go anyway you want.
Banks guarding slot receivers is a no go. He isn't quick enough. Although he has good length to jab at slants coming his way...if he could diagnose a play quickly enough. I like Banks. Have a lot of hope for that young man. Seems like he loves football, and he is humble.
I'd rather go after Sam Shields.....I just think Pnut Tillman is the more likely signing.
Tilman would be an ideal mentor for the young ones. If he is into that. He has a lot of ability in creating turnovers. I am a big fan of Peanut Tils. Fingers crossed.
Having Pnut line up opposite or Revis and Allen at the front along with McCoy forcing pressure is too good to pass up.
Still need a QB. Manziel is the Bucs saviour.
