Said this all year .

per JBF

Another one is former Bills personnel director Jim Monos, who also spent a combined 13 years as a scout with the Eagles and Saints.

He was talking Bucs on the Go Long podcast this month and was unafraid to say that Tom Brady too often looked like a washed out quarterback last season. Joe loves Brady, but only a weakened quarterback leads his team to an average of 18 points per game.

“You’re maxed out with Brady at that point,” Monos said of 2022 Brady. “He was an easy guy to prepare for — for defenses. He wasn’t going anywhere.

“I just think they’ll be able to do more with Mayfield because, to be honest, he’s just younger and tougher right now. Brady was good; Brady was checked out.”

Brady's skills had diminished, but he was not the main culprit behind the Buc's offensive woes. No running game because the O'line couldn't open up any hole for the RB's and was woeful in pass protection.

Hell, any QB would check out if they had that low-IQ moron as an OC.

This team was easy to prep for because of Byron.

Hence, his ass not getting a whiff for even a lowly position coaching gig.

Brady’s last season lacked a few key ingredients from his first. One was a fired up young defense that had a chance but had not won it all. (Godwin references the difference in the recent PR article about the low forecasts for the team this year)

The second was a fully committed and new to the team Brady. His personal commitment and leadership was the stuff of legends his whole career. He was the opposite this last year, late start, distracted, less committed etc

the third was a big drop in offensive talent. And this included a dated offense and overwhelmed OC who could not adjust.

in some ways Brady’s last season was reminiscent of Rothlisberger’s. For a couple reasons but one was the idea that the QB could just be a quick release distributor of the ball. That failed with the Bucs for multiple reasons

Donkeyman I think your IQ is lower. Like I've always told you. Your mind can't relate to concepts. When Monos said Brady checked out, he was referring to him being distracted by his off the field issues. Several players have mentioned that issue was a distraction and that has nothing to do with Byron. He didn't say Byron's scheme was the issue. He said Brady was easy to prepare for because he wasn't going anywhere, referring to how stationary he was. That has nothing to do with Byron. If you noticed all of the QB's who went deep in the playoffs were mobile enough to extend plays. The game is evolving, homey. Brady 2022 was not the same QB we were used to seeing. But your mind can't relate to that concept.

Why can't Leftwich get a job? Incompetence. Lost without mentor Arians. Even my wife was calling out which plays were coming. Good coaches adjust to the personnel they're given. Look at what the Steelers did last year to defeat the Bucs without their top 3 defensive backfield players. Leftwich couldn't adjust which led to his firing. If he was so good, why isn't he still with the Bucs?

Donk, a 20 on the wonderlic is considered average intelligence. Byron scored a 25, so where do you get the idea that Byron has a low IQ. Don't answer that, I already know. Go ahead and question his effectiveness as our OC. But stop with that low IQ bullshit.

Everyone's IQ is going to be low if we have to keep reading these takes about Baker vs Brady.

Just hope we don't win enough games to lose Drake Maye

I trust you're not trying to say Brady was any type of mobile QB prior to 2022...

I get the desire to simplify things but the Bucs struggles were not just Leftwich. I mean, Brady supposedly had a run in with Arians over game planning the years before but he wasn’t going to overrule bad game planning by Leftwich? He wasn’t going to influence the bad play calling? Audible?

Leftwich was exposed last year. 100%. The offense itself and play calling was a big part of the offensive struggles but the team also lacked talent on offense (due to injury and retirement and age) and, at a minimum, lacked discipline on defense. (Pass rush too)

lots of bad things coming together

Nope, he never was mobile, everybody knows that. But FATHER TIME is undefeated. Eventually he's going take down even the greatest athlete.

How do you account for 4 late game comebacks, nearly 5 if not for a missed 2 point conversion.

Exactly.

Hopefully, Canales brings the goods this season.

We’re going to have to finish no worse than 4th in draft position, otherwise, we’re going to have to trade up.

Anything over 4 wins and we’re definitely out of the running.

Hell, 4 wins may be too many.
