Bwahahahahahahahahahaha @ White and his defenders.

The dumbest fucking portion of this fanbase.

Not even close.

I don't know what circles you guys run in.  Perhaps you are hanging out at the bingo parlor or something.  I haven't seen one White defender on this board.  But as for anybody on this board defending White, I'd like to see some evidence of that.

Have you not been on this board for the last five years? The were multiple people who defended White’s shitty play nonstop. At least one of them is in this thread. Another claimed White would get $80M as a free agent. He’s probably on and Eagles fan board as we speak.

IMO the only question should be whether he's any kind of improvement over the current guys at the position, and whether he could at least take away some snaps to keep KJ Britt off the field for part of the time.  In that respect I think we could use Devin White.

Are you another one that forgot Bowles benched White for Britt last season? You think White will go in for coverage snaps? Sweet Geebus…

How's that working out?  Well, of course it's Bowles decision to make.  They brought back Whitehead and admitted they made a mistake letting him go.  White is a different situation, but the Bucs aren't afraid to reverse course on something.

You're right. White is a different situation, and doesn’t really apply to Whitehead - who the HC/DC never benched.

He would have to come back hat in hand with quite a few apologies, I would imagine. But even that doesn’t fix his deficiencies on the field, which is why he’s been inactive for Philly on game days.

...which is why he’s been inactive for Philly on game days.

Also why there were ZERO suitors before the trade deadline last season.

And, why there was literally no demand for him in FA this past offseason.

If the Bucs do sign him I'm sure it will be for the minimum with a chance for incentives.

i agree and might even suggest it wont have any incentives.  They wouldn't want him being a locker room problem if he isn't getting playing time to earn said incentives so if I'm them and you really want him, you sign him at Vet minimum with no upside.  Only upside is maybe you save your career and try again in the offseason to earn better than Vet minimum.  Otherwise, you can start to rap and once that fails, you just sit it and tweet on "twitter/x" all day

If you are the GM of a team other than the Bucs and you see the Bucs pass on him now UNDER THESE CIRCUMSTANCES (need an LB badly, Bowles like a dad, LVD a big bro, knows the defense) … how fast do you run away lol?

It's not about Devon White's career. It's about what the Bucs need to solve the MLB problem. White's deficiencies are well known. It would be trading one problem for another. In addition, if I were in the Bucs FO, I would be concerned about how bringing in White might screw up the locker room culture of this team. Hard pass. No.

honestly, i think its Bucs or career is over for White

It's not like the Eagles had super stars at the position.

Probably Licht's biggest draft mistake

I would generally agree, but without White playing out of his mind in the 2021 playoffs...do the Bucs win the SB?

prepare to be assaulted!

lol, kidding.

the visceral hatred that some have here for a player - who has no control over being drafted or when he is drafted - leads to completely over-the-top posts about the guy like “he only got those sacks because he was running through mile wide holes created by Bowles”

lol

He played really well in the playoffs and SB.

Who knows.

Doesn’t mean he was or is a good player.

And, certainly doesn’t mean we should bring him back.

I’d like to think Licht has learned from his mistakes and has permanently moved on from Kwon 2.0

Whites performance in the Super Bowl run was OBVIOUSLY critical to the Bucs success. I think he’s ill the first game but then is on the highlight reels from there with fumble recoveries, interceptions, one of the leaders in tackles etc.  He’s making play after play after play right down to the final game clinching INT which, I think, has him in zone making precisely the kind of play that Britt cannot.

Absurd to deny any of that but plenty of people do lmao.  It’s the way of the world.

He's ready to draft his 4th LSU lb (when they are a wr school)

We have to do something at ILB, and we've done nothing.   We have an aging star who they talked into coming back for another year., and a 6th round draft pick and two UDFAs to fill the other spots.  Even injured Dennis was a Day 3 pick. And they knew Dennis had a bum shoulder.  Bowles said as much this week. "His shoulder was kind of messed up this summer".  Thanks for that medical diagnosis, Coach.

Every other area of the team is stocked with early round draft picks.  Fine, the draft doesn't always fall the way you want it to, and you can't fill every hole with the draft.  So then they go out and get a free agent, like they did with the O-line and at DB.  But nope.  Nothing.  And then they get torched.  Shocking.  Who'd a thunk it.   It's really a mystery why the Bucs basically ignored the need at the position of ILB.
