Wow, TakeThat, you are a snarky little so-and-so. 8 pts does tell the story. They barely gave up those. Pick whatever stats you want, the 'Hawks dropped it on Peyton and crew as hard as anyone ever has in the SB. I am glad they did it, as I enjoy watching a solid D. Doesn't take anything away from our Bucs of yore, but I just can't sit by without speaking up, as you belittle Seattle's epic achievement.
Seattle's defense was great last year and even better this year. They will need to keep it up for several more years to be talked about like the Ravens or Steelers or Bears or Bucs....because that longevity is rare. However....when you are talking about the greatest defensive performances of all time, this season and this Super Bowl in particular are most definitely in the top 5. It doesn't take away from the Bucs of 2002. It is what it is. And I promise you that defenses all over the league will be trying their best to mimic Carroll's hybrid version of the 4-3 for years to come. Besides, with a nickname as cool as the Legion of Doom.....how could they not be great?! :)
Russell Wilson's top two receivers for this year were Doug Baldwin and Golden Tate.Next year he has Percy Harvin and Sydney Rice. Going to go out on a limb and assume he ditches the game manager label in the future. He had zero talent on the perimeter to work with this year. He gets a limited Harvin back for the Super bowl and he makes it look easy.
It is amazing to think they did it all without their #1 or #2 WRs. And they don't even have a stud TE to fall back on. Imagine if we lost VJax and Mike Will for the year. It really is amazing.
Harvin returned a kick last night. How did they do it without him ?

I agree with your larger point but more than likely Rice is done in Seattle. It's been too long since he's been any good and they have more important players to give raises to.

Harvin played 24 snaps in two games this year. Rice played zero. It's nice that they had Harvin for the Super Bowl and he made a few big plays, but they got there without him or Sidney Rice.
