Doing the same things over and over and expecting a different result.Very little has been said about hiring a new GM. Somehow we already have a leader in the club house for a HC? Hopefully I am wrong but sounds like we are putting the cart before the horse.
According to DTG, the Glazers have been scheming behind the scenes for awhile. They probably have a plan this time around. At least I hope.
They had a plan last time. Chip Kelly fucked them over at the last second and then they had to scramble while most good candidates were gone. From everything we've heard, Schiano was not close to the top choice.
Gm should come first..Anyone notice that Hardy Nickerson, who also coached w Lovie, was a special guest of Glazers at last home game? Made me curious
If "the plan" is to keep making coaching hires from the owner's box, then we are F***ED
Rick Stroud was just on NFLN and said he thinks they'll hire a HC first and then give him a personnel guy. I'm sensing Lovie and Marc Ross.
Possibly the GM and HC hirings will be concurrent. A package deal where both parties know and approve of the other ahead of time wouldn't be the worst thing ever.
Ideally I'd like a GM first but it won't happen as it seems the Glazer boys want to pick a coach every time.

it is what it is. They own the team and they have to st least hire somebody first. But they probably go the safe route this time.

It wouldnt...but I dont have a lot of faith in our ownership at the moment to do this right.

Owner always has final say on who the head coach is, that's nothing new. I heard both Scott Pioli and Pat Kirwan say it yesterday on the radio. A GM will give their top candidate choice to the owner, and then the owner will make the final decision. Were the Bucs "FED" when the Glazers nixed McKay's choice of Marvin Lewis and instead went after Jon Gruden?

There is a vast difference in having "final say" and having "only say". But hey, seems to work really well for Dallas and Washington...great models to follow. The Gruden example is an anomaly. Did it work out that first year, yes. Which one is still coaching?
Well Marvin Lewis is still coaching for the team that did hire him.

Yep...and they didnt give up any 1st round picks to get him.I am not upset that we got Gruden, but if he didnt come with a Lombardi Trophy I think we would all be looking at that ordeal as a monumental screw up.
How many rings does Lewis have again?
