He has been benched , and he has left the team .

I would be fine with him as a starter

They're going to end up releasing him. Definitely in play for us. I remember when we were supposed to draft him in 2014. Didn't move up, he went 2 spots ahead of us and we took ASJ.

I mean the guy is ok but if the goal is championships....not the answer.

honestly, if we dont go out on top this year. and Brady riding off into sunset, i dont see how Brady doesn't come back here.  Please dont laugh.  crazier things have happened.  Hell...could see Green Bay making a run, upsetting Niners and Eagles and we hosting a championship game after beating Cowboys and either Giants/Vikings.  We can go on a run...even though the last 4 months suggest otherwise.  Hold out hope :)

anyway...i digress...other than maybe San Francisco, maybe Miami...what other teams are better fit for Brady than Tampa Bay?

AFC East - Really want to limp into wild card with Buffalo winning the division?  Jets and New England have less weapons than Tampa so not a better fit there.  Kraft would want Brady back but would likely mean the end of Bill.  Also Brady needs alot of help these days and NE didnt have in 2019 and doesn't have it now.

Miami has the weapons but i do question if they'd move on from Tua after a relatively positive year.  Losing out would not be good for them but just saying...not sure Miami would be interested given the year than Brady versus Tua had.  Still let's leave Miami as an option

AFC North - no teams would be interested

AFC West - Raiders would be interested but Brady would be foolish to go up against Herbert and Mahomes and probably a better Denver team next year.  Does Brady have the ego to think he can do it?  Sure.  But hopefully the people in his group assess the likehood of a championship and how NFC South is a much easier path.

AFC West - Not sure any of the teams here would be of interest to Brady.  Certainly a weak division he would covet.  Titans and Colts would probably be interested but again.....AFC has Burrow, Mahomes, Allen, Herbert versus NFC Hurts, Prescot, Purdy, Cousins.   and is the talent on Colts and Titans better than Tampa?

NFC South - Other than Tampa, i keep hearing the Saints because of Sean Peyton.  Saints are in cap hell, missing a first round pick, beat up AK and MT; just dont see how they pose a better fit than Tampa Bay even though they have the weak division aspect.  Both good defenses.

NFC West - 49ers obviously but are they interested is the key question.

NFC North - Lions better fit than Tampa?  nah.  Vikings maybe if they decide to move on from Kirk...not sure if it's possible.

NFC East - Washington?  Giants?  ehhh.

so realistically i feel we have to worry about two teams for Brady's services that might be a better fit than Tampa Bay - and that is Miami and 49ers. I would think Brady would be foolish to consider any other interested team over Tampa.

and as Buc Fans...if we want to keep the playoff/championship window open, we better hope washed up Brady returns because he's counting 35 M against the cap next year and if not him, we are rolling with Gabbert/Trask in a tank season.

They won’t tank , it’s hard to get that stink off you once you do , culture would be shot

and they have a nice young nucleus to build around

like it or not , this years Brady won’t be hard to replace

really?  Brady had 7 wins, lets say projected at 9 and likely playoff team, again, depending on this Sunday's outcome.

since our last Superbowl in 2002, the Bucs team that matched 9 wins was just 5 out of 17 years pre Brady.  and only 2 of those 17 were good enough to make playoffs.  They also had, say what you will about the guy, a superior coach to the one we have now.

2005 - 11-5

2007 - 9-7

2008 - 9-7 - missed playoffs

2010 - 10-6 - missed playoffs

2016 - 9-7 - missed playoffs

don't get me wrong, im frustrated with Brady this year as well but how do you think Brady would perform on SF with all those weapons and offensive line?  would it remind you of the 2020, 2021 Bucs or you think he'll be this year's verison?

There’s a handful of QBs I would take over Brady , I wouldn’t have said that a year ago , Brady is turning it over way too much , missing throws way too often .

like who?  also please factor in that he counts $35M against the cap next year.

so 1 - who would you take if we didnt have dead cap

2 - who can we afford?

Pass on Carr.

Start Trask next year with Byron at OC.

3 wins max.

Top-3 pick to find our next QB.

Much better

Brady has had some uncharacteristically bad plays this season. Is that age? Pressing? Both?  I think he has thrown some 1st down interceptions (ie where he didn't need to) and from my recent memory one of the Bengal interceptions was just an off target throw to a TE sitting down between two defenders. I think we have the lead so . . .

Still though, a great running team with a defense and he's all set. . . for now.

Father time undefeated
