Derek Carr will work out with Mike Sullivan after Jeff TedfordBy Joe Soriano - Feb 28th, 2014 at 12:13 pm Fresno State Bulldogs quarterback Derek Carr (4) looks towards the crowd after the Bulldogs defeated the Utah State Aggies 24-17 at Bulldog Stadium. Cary Edmondson-USA TODAY SportsFresno State Bulldogs quarterback Derek Carr was one of a few top prospects at the position that elected not to throw at the Combine, as he went the route his older brother David did when he was a draft prospect. The younger Carr is a likely first-round pick, but he could slip into the second round if a team like the Minnesota Vikings feels that they can get him later on. It’s going to be interesting to see where Carr goes, because he could be ranked anywhere between second and fourth by NFL teams. Carr is busy working out with coaches and trying to up his stock before his pro day, as that’s when he will throw in front of scouts in the pre-draft process. FOX Sports’s Mike Garafolo reports that the strong-armed QB will work out with former Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator and New York Giants QBs coach Mike Sullivan before his pro day, and it’s a wise decision for Carr to work out with a QB guru of Sullivan’s caliber. It also looks like there’s a potential link between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Carr, as Garafolo also reports that the Fresno State product worked out with current Buccaneers OC Jeff Tedford, who is another touted QB guru. These two links to the Buccaneers organization are worth watching for, as they have the seventh pick in the draft and might not be sold on Mike Glennon as “the guy”. Although they aren’t expected to draft a quarterback this year, the fact that they could have interest in Carr is worth noting. http://nflspinzone.com/2014/02/28/derek-carr-will-work-mike-sullivan-jeff-tedford/?utm_source=FanSided&utm_medium=Network&utm_campaign=Around%20the%20Network
Not at 7, sorry
If we trade back, sure. If Tedford and Lovie think he's the guy, who am I to argue?
Something's 'off' with that article. Mike Sullivan is NOT listed as the Giants' QB coach on their site. Maybe he's a scout for them? Dunno. And just to confuse things more, ANOTHER "Mike Sullivan", a former player, is the assistant O'line coach with the Titans...
I've got a bad feeling this is happening at #7 .....god help us....
Not a fan. Is Derek Carr the next Christian P0nder?
If they think he's the guy, take him at 7. I like the pick - Fast, big arm, good leadership, and connection to OC.

Wasn't Sully a QB coach for the g-men before he came to Tampa?

Sullivan was the Giants' QB coach before the Bucs hired him as OC in 2012. His claim to fame was that he turned Eli from a dud to a stud but it looks like Eli has regressed back into a dud. Kind of like Freeman did from 2012 to 2013. Both Carr brothers are working out with Sullivan right now.
To me, the "connection" Tedford has almost makes him less likely to draft him. Less that he knows his flaws than doubts about being objective with him.
I like Carr, just not at 7. Bottom of R1 or top of R2 sure, sign me up.
How long as Tedford been working with Carr? Maybe that was Lovie's plan all along.

this.If they think he's the guy, don't play around with picking him

This I don't understand. if he is a starting level QB he is a value at 7. If he isn't then he's not a value at bottom of 1 or 2. So which is it?

I strongly agree with this line of thinking
