I would prefer McCluster as I think he brings a little something to the offense if needed.  Hester is a more expensive one trick pony....its a pretty good trick though.

McCluster's price tag will skyrocket this year. I'd think past Hesters tag at $2.9M.

He had 59 catches at a 9.2 YPC average. Neither of those figures screams pay me! Given a choice of **CENSORED**sure and Hester I take mccluster but the better answer is none of the above.

He's a punk return specialist. He lead the league in punt return yards and TD's. That screams "PAY ME". Take that to the bank!

...and despite that he is a fairly middle of the pack returner in average. Punt returns are wildly inconsistent so expecting that level of production again is unlikely. He's clearly never done it before either.

He was never really given the chance to excel until Reid came in. He did decently at kickoff returns in 2010 and 2011. In 2012 they didn't let him do either.

Give me Hester. He still is going to strike fear into the minds of any team kicking to him. Hester also had the Lovie connection, I'd be pretty shocked if he isn't here.

I liked McCluster coming out of Ole Miss, and was disappointed we couldn't draft him so I'll take him.  Tedford said he wanted speed in space.  Although McCluster isn't the fastest guy, he is great in space.  Could add a lot of explosion to the offense if used the right way.  He's strictly a slot WR/KR, so he shouldn't demand that much.

Hester WAS great, but I think he is closing in on the end of his career. Love Dexter, dude is electric.

McCluster does seem a good fit in Tedfords offense....

I see people are once again letting age scare them away. Hester is still the best at what he does and doesn't appear to be slowing down anytime soon. I'd take him today. That's not to say McCluster is a bum. He does his job very well. But he's no Hester.

Hester has 1 return TD in his last 2 seasons.

Field position is more important in terms of returns. TDs are so hit and miss and you can't depend on your special teams to consistently provide you with scoring. But if he's giving you an extra 27.6 yards per kick return and an extra 14.2 yards on punt returns that sets up your offense nicely.....And that 1 return is 1 more than this team has over the same time period...

But he wasn't nearly as consistent of a threat in the return game. Again, it's about field position.

I give up.  If you don't see the difference in the 2 of them, its hopeless.Dexter 2 return TD's last season.    Hester 1 return TD in his last TWO seasons.Dexter is 25              Hester is 31
