Did Manning dink and dunk like this all year? Most of these throws are all less than 10 yards, even down 29-0.

There's been more of it...much of it forced by the defense but the Broncos offense is very dependent on these guys catching and running with it. A lot of these 3 yard gains have been 8,10,12 yard gains during the season.
Quite a bit of dink and dunk...but he has guys like Demaryius Thomas who led the league in YAC.Then he does hit some deep throws mixed in there when the defense is on its heels.
You don't break the yardage record with only dinking and dunking.
If you can bring the heat with just 4 you can play coverage and keep everything in front of you.
This is why when guys like Flacco, Eli, and Roethlisberger have good teams they do so well in the playoffs. You have to have a good arm to make difficult throws in bad weather against good defenses.
I have to think they way they gameplanned to beat the seattle D with the screens and dumps. They moved the ball... for the most part it worked, they just couldnt hold onto the ball and Peyton had to balls tipped into INTs.

Manning finished the game with a 5.7 YPA. That's worse than Glennon.

The ball had to come out fast. The offensive tackles were getting spanked all night, specifically Orlando Franklin.

Franklin was clearly the LVP.

Their team lead the league on the whole in YAC. Makes that Y/A thing seems so misguided. Yeah it matters but the guys catching the ball also matter significantly. Glennon's poor Y/A is a product of HIS play and our receivers generally being very poor at making people miss.
manning got 51% of his yards via air yards (how far he threw it), he was 26th in the league. Glennon, by contrast, was 1 overall (and this isn't trying to make a point) was 65%.

Point? It was about design.Id be completely happy to 5.7 YPA myself downfield and score. Last I checked 5.7 YPA will get you a first down every 3 downs.

It sounds great but it's too hard to be perfect on every single play and defenses are too good to allow every single play to work like that. Eventually someone is going to run the wrong route, throw an incompletion, fumble, etc. You have to get yards in chunks to compensate for errors and good plays by the defense.
Denver's oline got manhandled, the hawks took away the close range stuff, and the matchups defensively were almost unfair. What I felt happened was new defense vs old style offense. Also, before the game the refs said they would "let them play," and that's pretty much code for "PI won't be called as much." Obviously the way denver played it would not have mattered, but that does play right into the seahawks hands.
