Disconnect? Bad coaching? Are players dropping hints about Lovie? November 12, 2015 Gil Arcia This past week I have spent a considerable amount of time tending to some family things. With that said, I’ve spent more time than I normally would observing player reactions to questions and how they are handling things on social media. Speaking of social media, the great Gerald McCoy has blocked me on Twitter. Not sure why. But it is unfortunate because his comic book movie analysis is amazing and that is definitely his true calling. So I will no longer see those hit my timeline. Sadly.I digress. As I was saying, players are starting to say and do certain things in cryptic fashion. Take cornerback Alterraun Verner for example, who retweeted a fan tweet which hash tagged “bad coaching”. Verner undid the retweet, but the screenshot was already taken.
Then there is linebacker Lavonte David who on Monday said he is just doing what he is told when asked if he is frustrated with his performance this season. Which if true, provides proof of a poorly coached team as David is not utilized correctly despite his constant missed tackles.“I’m just doing what I’m told. I’m doing my job and just doing what is asked of me. I’m going out there playing hard. I mean, personally, I haven’t even been thinking about that. I’m just doing what I’m supposed to do.”Finally, the latest comes courtesy of now known to be disgruntled right tackle Demar Dotson who once believed he was starting this week but no longer the case now. And he throws his head coach under the bus.“It’s disappointing, especially when you were told last week by the head coach. I guess you quickly realize it’s a business.”Alrighty then. An apparent disconnect there especially after head coach Lovie Smith responded by basically saying he never said Dotson would be starting.Regardless of the disconnects or bad coaching claims, one thing is certain and that is this team — specifically this defense — finds itself in lots of troubles week in and week out. Only time will tell the fate of head coach Lovie Smith.Especially if players continue to drop subliminal messages about their head coach.link
