For the last 5 years the winning % of teams coming off their bye is 51.9% win and 48.1% toward a loss. What does that say about our sky is falling pre-season extension? Absolutely Nothing!

Dirk & Co. have already shown a penchant for taking it easy on vets so I'm certain they'v already figured out a way to create an in season bye to rest the troops. A strategic "Victory Monday" of sorts. Remember we already get 10 days between the Patriots game on Oct. 5th and the Cards game on the 15th. I'm confident the coaching staff won't allow this to cripple us in any way.

On the flip side the positives are numerous (as touched on in a different thread)
* TJ Ward system assimilation
* Jack Smith health
* Kwon's mystery ailment progressing toward healing
* Additional roster internal/external analysis
* 1 extra week for the skill players legs to freshen up for "our" week 1
* Deep dive on the Chicago game-plan

I'm not saying I'm excited, mainly because "damn" I'm ready for football, but I don't really think this is a negative for our season hopes.

What say you?
