Scott, Mark, Trevor, I’d love for any of you to chime in or even throw this into the next PR Mailbag, but also putting this out here for discussion and/or rage:
With the growing momentum around the bills moving up to #3 to take a QB, there is the increasing possibility that either Chubb, Nelson, or even both will be sitting at our 7th pick. There are also rumors out there that Nelson is #1 on a lot of teams’ boards. I want to enter into the hypothetical scenario where:
1.) Both Nelson and Chubb are available at #7
2.) Tampa is one of the teams that has Nelson as their top overall prospect.
We’ve seen Licht stick to his board in past drafts and take players at positions of lesser need because they were higher on his board. My question is whether this scenario above, if it were to come to fruition, could it result in this franchise doing the unthinkable and passing up Chubb for Nelson?
